Sweet!  I was hoping for it to be in 56 Sqn colours but I'll settle for 3 (Fighter) Sqn colours any day!    Be cool if they have V1's too.

Colours look a little off and didn't late Tempest's have the D-Day markings on?

Really nice ...

Clostermann's JF-E should have a white cross of Lorraine (2 horizontal parts - top one smaller) just behind the spinner on the right side and the name (stacked)"Le Grand Charles" under the front of the cockpit left side.

Cheers,

Rifle - there were several JF-Es. Only the last one had these markings IIRC.

Duma, true.

What I will miss I guess are the "there I was, 1v1 vs an enemy" - with a 50% chance to win!

Right now I feel that's how it is because the planes are so well balanced.

But with the perk system, chances are I'll meet a perk plane in that 1v1 and it will *feel* to me like I am being cheated on, that there isn't a level playing field.

Oh well. Just me  .

Not till after the war did the Tempest get some real color and paint variety. All that I could find shows the same camo scheme that HTC is using. Although I personally would prefer invasions stripes to help offset it from the Typhoon more.

Westy..

The Typhoon and early versions of the Tempest had the black & white stripes on there wings before they came out with Invasion Stripes..

Reason being, Allied fighters for some reason were mistaking the Typhoon for a FW190 and they where engaging there own guys. You will see the odd pick of the Typhoon with stipes on the wings but not the fuselage.

Dog out..

Hey wait a minute! I thought the first three perk planes were gonna be the Dora, the Ta-152 and the -F8! Pyro, you promised!

That's it.  I'm cancelling my account!

Awesome Tempest! I can't wait to test that puppy out! Now I have to wait for pics of the perked Bomber...but that pic will tide me over

Once again, well done HTC!

Just a note for those saying the Tempest climbs like a G10: check some figures.

Thanks Wardog, I stand corrected.

I'd prefer the stripes myself of course. Then again we do have icons to tell the planes apart from each other.

For those of you questioning the paint scheme of the Tempest V, refer to Osprey 27, p.41, colour plate 29.  Biiiiatch!

Hey, just noticed something - Superfly, where are the gun blisters in the wing? I gotta admit, the wing looks a bit thick too, perhaps just the perspective?

You're spot on Duma - this looks like a Typhoon wing! The main difference between Typh and Tempenst was that thinner laminar wing...

Just wondering Superfly.....Will the Tempest have a loadout option for drop tanks upon release?

Yes banana, it will have droptanks.  And, as mentioned in another post, I am fixing the thickness of the wings.
