What was your brush with greatness? I have 2.
(1)Struck by Rosalind Carter's limo at the 1976 Texas State Fair.

(2)Robert Altman became a good customer of mine while filming "Dr.T and the Women" in Dallas. We would spend quite a bit of time discussing film. I think he got tired of me quizzing him about "M*A*S*H*" and "McCabe and Mrs. Miller".
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Me.. I looked in the mirror
LMAO

No seriously though.

Met  Drew Pearson -He knew my 7th-8th grade chorus teacher

Many moons ago I spoke with John Madden for about 5 min when he came into a carwash I worked at.

Unfortunately it took me 4 min and 30 seconds before I realised who he was LMAO

Had Dinner with Buddy Rich in Orlando with his manager Stan Kay..  Opened for Frehleys Comets in 1988 and got to meet Ace back stage and Anton Fig, Talked with Anton backstage before the show started , I always tuned my drums to the venue with a torque wrench, Antons were moved from the Truck directly on stage. He must have watched me for about 30 minutes while I made anal tuning changes to a pitch pipe. He walked up after awhile and asked me if I would go on the road with the Comets and he would pay $800 a week to be his drum tech, stupid me I turned him down..
The following week they joined the Alice Cooper tour which would have been a great experience and the tour lasted awhile as well...
I figure that was the fork in the road and I made a wrong choice possibly...I will never know!

In order:

Ate dinner across the table from Ross Perot.  Funny guy.

Dick Armey asked me if I'd take his daughter out when he announced my appointment to the academy.

I shook hands with Colin Powell after he spoke to the cadet wing.

Donald Rumsfeld gave me my diploma.

I enjoyed a picnic at Bill Gates' house.

edit: oh yeah, I saw Dick Cheney touring STRATCOM last winter.

edit #2: I shot Drex down during the 2v2 tourny at the con 2 years ago...  too bad Eagl took care of me and darkstar by himself.

Met several sports stars while working at the Kingdom El Torito in the 80's.  Mike Tice, Curt Warner (The RB, not the QB)...The most significant "brush" was when I was introduced to Dave Henderson by Swanny (Swannys Underground Comedy) in the 80's at Swanny's bar, we drank and BS'd, he bought me a beer!  Nice guy.

Had Ringo Star answer the door at my parent's house.

Met the director and all the stars of the film "The Deep".

Met Alan Sheppard at the Paris Airshow and he gave our family a tour.

Back stage passes to the Rolling Stones show in Atlanta.

Met and had dinner with Sir James Martin's son - James - of Martin Baker infamy.  I think is the VP there now.

Friends with Geoffrey Bird who was the guest speaker at the Indy Con.

lol...nope.

He was having dinner with my father and my sister and I returned home on Sunday evening to find our front door locked.  We knocked, Ringo answered.

I had no idea who the heck he was at the time though.
