Bear, I wholeheartedly agree this should be handled privately. At the same time, I am curious why it is okay for people to call us names publicly. And Bear, you would also agree that a customer never gets the right to abuse someone by simply paying for a service or product.
It is never appropriate to abuse any member of this community or HTC. There is nothing anyone can say that will justify that type of behavior. This is a position we have held for as long as the board has been running. The simple reason is there is nothing to be gained from it and much to lose.
By the way, I do not take these things personally, but referring to anyone at HTC in a derogatory manner is not going to be ignored, just as referring to any member of this community in a derogatory manner is not going to be ignored.
I cannot think of anyone here who is myopic nor a pinhead. I happen to work with some very bright and hard working people who I am proud to be associated with.
Thank you Roy,
Your last post explains quite a bit of what I see as needing improvement within HTC.
Step outside of the box a minute Roy.
look at the game and the player comments from the player's perspective and see if quite a few decisions (none of which are exclusively CT) could not be easily considered myopic. Then consider months of field related commentary on said decisions being ignored and it isn't difficult for me to just write it off as a "pinhead" is doing this.
I suppose the nature of the game industry allows you to simply blow people off, so you do. I would suggest you guys never leave the game industry.
Kinda reminds me of Henry Ford saying "the public can have the model T Ford in any color, so long as it's Black". That pinheaded decision was instrumental in the birth of General Motors, but hey what do I know.
As far as the brilliance of the people in your organization is concerned, I wholeheartedly agree that you are a brilliant bunch of computer types. I also never called into question your work ethic because it is evident it's there. Being brilliant in anything doesn't make you a good businessman It just means you are very good in one specific area that's all.
Six people are on commuter flight when the airplane suffers mulitiple catastrophic engine failure. The pilot and co-pilot each grab a parachute and head for the door, poof out they go. The passangers were
A philantropist
A Scientific genious
A Catholic Priest
A Boy Scout
There are three parachutes left.
The Philanthropist grabs one stating that he has much good to do in the world before he dies grabs a bag and jumps.
The Genious states that he is too important to the world to die yet, grabs a pouch and jumps.
The Priest looks at the Boy Scout and says "son, my place with my Lord is secure because I have placed my trust in him, you take the last parachute".
The Boy Scout looks at the Priest and says " Take it easy Padre, That genious grabbed my back pack when he jumped. there are still two parachutes left".
Even Geniouses sometimes make mistakes.
You say this should be handled in another forum. I say we have issues you would rather not deal with. That again is my opinion. I will post nothing further on this topic. It is clearly a waste of time.
