Few Americans would have voted for George W. Bush four years ago if he had promised that, as President, he would:
• Empty the Social Security trust fund by $507 billion to help offset fiscal irresponsibility and at the same time slash Social Security benefits.
• Cut Medicare by 17 percent and reduce veterans’ benefits and military pay.
• Eliminate overtime pay for millions of Americans and raise oil prices by 50 percent.
• Give tax cuts to businesses that sent American jobs overseas, and, in fact, by policy encourage their departure.
• Give away billions of tax dollars in government contracts without competitive bids.
• Involve this country in a deadly and highly questionable war, and
• Take a budget surplus and turn it into the worst deficit in the history of the United States, creating a debt in just four years that will take generations to repay.
These were elements of a hidden agenda that surfaced only after he took office.
The publishers of The Iconoclast endorsed Bush four years ago, based on the things he promised, not on this smoke-screened agenda.

Someone emailed me this.  Since I really don't follow U.S. politics in great detail, I was curious as to how much of this was true and how much was simply anti-democrat propaganda?

=================================
Let me see  have I got this straight?

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia -  good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in  Iraq - bad...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good...
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists-  good...
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator -  bad...

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good...
Bush bombs terrorist camps - bad...

Clinton commits felonies while in office - good...
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...

No mass graves found in Serbia - good...
No WMD found Iraq - bad...

Stock market crashes in 2000 under  Clinton - good...
Economy on upswing under Bush - bad...

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...
World Trade Centers fall under Bush - bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nukes - good...
Bush says Saddam has nukes - bad...

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Terrorist training in  Afghanistan under Clinton - good...
Bush destroys training camps in Afghanistan - bad...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam turned over for trial - bad...

Ahh, it's so confusing!

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average
tax burden on Americans, and then calculates the  "Tax Freedom Day." This is
the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government. This
year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been since
1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000. Notice
anything special about those dates?

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are
actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave
no explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are
wealthy men.

Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas.

Kerry owns 4 mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does
that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.

Only three weeks until the election

You left one out, Badger.  Bush isn't smart enough to be a dog catcher while Clinton was a Rhodes scholar.

Perception: You're coming off as a moron here.  Reality:  I've met you and know you're not a moron.

You think you'd be able to figure things like that out curly.  Actually, I'm quite suprised you can't.

No reflection on you Curly, but some the the outright dumbest folks I have ever witnessed had their walls papered with degrees and awards. Clinton couldn`t even do the deed without leaving a stain on the red dress. :D

It was a blue dress and Clinton is pretty smart, he's convinced a generation of 1990's teenage girls that oral isn't sex thereby guarantying himself and endless supply of fellatio.  One can hardly blame for that.  Look at the shrew he shacks with  :D

Bush doesn't come across as the sharpest tack in the box but at least he isn't a self-confessed war criminal. Anyone that believes Kerry is more fiscally responsible or savvy will deserve what they get should he win. Too bad the rest of us will have to suffer too. If you think Kerry will lead the world to peace you oughta stop sniffing glue long enough to visit the real world for a few days.

If Kerry wins, I may vote democrat for a few elections in hopes that everyone sees once and for all the pitfalls of socialism and the mistake in ignoring or appeasing terrorists.

I had never heard of Kerry say he took part in war-crimes(maybe I missed it), just that he had seen them take place.

but with Bush you get a guy who was indicted as a war criminal.

IIRC the charges were filed in Japan and related to the use of DU rounds (basically our own version of the nuclear 'dirty weapon' we were wanned the enemy could use on us).  as far as I've been able to tell he never answered the charges.
