Bush not loved?
« on: October 15, 2004, 06:51:25 PM »
Since the Democrats have bought most of the minority votes in this country I'm wondering if any of these countries will give me anything for mine?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135545,00.html

And in eight out of 10 nations, those polled said — often in landslide proportions — that they hoped to see Democrat John Kerry (search) beat U.S. President Bush (search) in next month's election. Bush won backing from a majority of respondents only in Russia and Israel.

Funny thing is after 9/11 you got whole world with you but somehow you managed to blow it.
Should hire better PR-person :)

i guess john heinz-kerry passes the "global test"?

maybe we should let the UN pick our president, then we could pay off the national debt with oil for food kick backs.

Don't interpret the polls as pro Kerry. They are basically 'anybody but Bush'.  I'm afraid GWB is widely detested.   Probably the most disliked US president outside America since...........Nixon?

If he gets re-elected he may try to address the issue because much of what America is doing requires the goodwill and cooperation of other countries. Shocking though that concept is to some people.

Nixon was pretty impressive internationally. Just the folks within the US disliked him.

You have to go much further back in time... and even then, I'm not sure if you'll find a more hated President on an international scale.

Let me pose this question:

Who, in the history of the United States of America, do you think was more hated internationally than Bush Jr. is now?

Seriously...

Our Republic is not likely (whatsoever) to collapse no matter who's elected, Bush or Kerry.  Our friendships and alliances on the other hand...

To me, at least, it seems like Bush has completely burnt his bridges to the rest of the world.  I'm not saying that sweet talker Kerry will be able to use his "famous charm" to any advantage in that respect, but at least he hasn't gone off being a cowboy and ticking all these other countries off... yet.

It's sad because there are some things I admire about Bush, and I thought he was great right after 9-11 "Well I can hear YOU.."....

Unfortunately, I'm sorry but we need some Allies right about now and I doubt we'll get many with Bush in charge.

Kerry has my vote.

(This is not the only reason, or the main reason, I'll be voting for him, but I feel it is an important reason, even if that makes me a "moron").

So the euro's loved Nixon, arguably the worst politican we have ever fielded, but hate Bush.  I would say they are 2 for 2 on being deadass wrong, so far.
