Oregon looks like it'll be a close race, so I almost voted for Kerry.  Well, not almost, but I thought about it for half a second, well, less than half a second, but I did think about it.

Same here, he didn't get enough valid signatures to get on the ballot in Oregon, and his lawsuit to get on anyway failed.

I think it would be a great story if Badnarik, who is currently off the radar, woke up on the 3rd with a significant share of the vote. Like, in the 1-2% area. While that may seem relatively small, it'd be huge.

So huge that it aint gonna happen...

But, Nadar is getting around 1%, and he remains a big story.

If Badnarik doubles or even triples Nader's result, then voila, you've got a new player. That can only be good in the long run.

Nash, do you remember when Ross Perot was running in 1992?

He was running even with Bush and Clinton until he got pissed about "operatives" trying to mess up his daughters wedding.

He then announced he was out of the race. He came back into the race just before the election, *only* 15% in the polls, and won the first Presidential debate ( Perot, Bush, Clinton)

Despite having pulled out of the race ( taking all the momentum away, and his whacky VP...he got 19% of the popular vote.

Now those were fun times.

Yeah... they sure were...

The guy completely crumbled. Turned insane in a matter of months, right in front of everyone.

He prolly ended up doing more damage to even the idea of viable alternatives as is possible.

There are a few things that stick out in my mind about that election. One, of course, was his slide into dementia. Another was "a giant sucking sound" and lastly, was Dennis Miller acting like the complete media slut and trotting out his pom-poms in support of Perot every chance he could get.

I saw one of Perot's infomercial and I had to say I was impressed with ALOT of what the guy had to say.  Not your typical politician.

Too bad though he is a prime example of a spoiler.......didn't his VP fall asleep at one of the debates?

Ross Perot was great. His VP was an old Admiral..very old. He was chosen as a temp. VP, but became the actual VP after Ross left the race, then came back.

Perot was a breath of fresh air. His Reform party could have been a true alternative, but Perot wanted to keep it all about himself.

Perot entered the race as a stunt. Egonomiacal billionaire shakes up the system, ect.  It suddenly became clear to him he had an actual shot at winning the election and he folded pushing his supporters to his intended goal Clinton, the anti-regime. He re-entered after he is safely clear of winning. I personally disliked the put downs of Stockdale. You want a true look at republican tactics, dig into their attack on Stockdale.
