From the "What day will 2.01 release?" thread

Referring to this Monday, 25th October, 2004

Quote
I am by no means implying a Monday release. Even if we are finished up with development by then, there's still a lot of stuff that has to be done before a new version is kicked out the door.

I don't think will be out today, too many problems with the .11 patch.

I'd be surprised if it came out before Wednesday.

Mitsu,

I'm really looking forward to v2.01 as well, but I think Tuesday or Wednesday is more likely.

I'll be surprised, happily surprised, if it is released today.

From HT's news posts: The only purpose of this patch is that we wanted to put out the change that does away with the necessity of needing a card that supports hardware T&L before the actual 2.01 release

I have heard several people say they were getting CTD when Alt Tabbing out of the game and some other things. I am curious why they even D/L'd this patch if they didn't have the hardware T&L issue. Makes no since to me why they would, unless I am missing something.

There was also a minor fix to gunnery relating to where tracers appear. So that's one reason. For myself, I'm an ardent beta tester - I can break stuff good - so I would download anyway just to help out.

The glitches I've seen myself include:
- skins are no longer available
- radio can only be tuned with .radio commands
- ctd on alt-tab
- sky texture tearing on some terrains
