Ok, my score is 2108 (due to my slower fsb / ram methinks). It is still faster than your setup maddog - something is definitely up cause you got more muscle in your machine

I will retest this evening and post the results, if accurate - something may be up with your machine

Bizarre.  I cannot figure out how you managed to halve the performance you should be getting.  There is definately something wrong there though.
You should be busting 4,000.

You forcing anti-aliasing?  How about anisotropic filtering?
If neither, then I would say you have some stuff running in background eating CPU cycles up.

Skuzzy, not quite sure man. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix these problems? Or turn antialiasing or anistropic off? Right now it is set to balanced, and antialiasing and anistropic are at "application preffernce".

Cavalier, I'll check those drivers out.

By all accounts Xtreme (everyone swears AMD is faster than Intel), you should be beating my system.  I have a slower CPU, the same video card, and look at my score.

That was with the same video card settings you have.  You should, at least equal the performance of my system.  Just seems bizarre.  Looks to me like you are giving up a lot of performance somewhere and the most likely culprit is Windows processes.

Note:  The task manager does not show all the processes that are running.  It only shows the EXE programs which are running (except the ones MS hides).  There can be many DLL's running/loaded you do not know about.  Spyware/Malware is a big culprit, but MS has some sneaky ones too, such as the ones associated with Media Player 9 and 10.

Would you recommend doing a system restore and starting fresh? I would'nt know how to find those processes and stop them.

Also one more thing. Think I should use the Windows 64bit Edition? It's a 1 year trial, think I'd see any better performance? Then I'd think about buying it.
