The Dems worked very hard to strip Bush of that moniker. They have no right to expect any concessions from him in the interest of unification.

And this helps the country how?

What's more important - the wellfare of the country or the pride of the party?

The welfare of the country of course and if the Democrats value that they will swallow their pride.

No ... you're wrong on this one. And it'd be the same for whichever side wins. It is the job of the leader to bring those who lost into the fold. Bush's *job* is to lead the whole country - what kind of leader is he if he says F U to 48% of the nation?

Bush was a great leader in the months immediately following 9/11. He now has a chance to regain that glow with the entire nation.

I agree that it's Bush's job to lead the entire country. Now it's time for that 48% to get in line and follow.

Yes. Agree with you 100%. It has to go both ways. Folks who are still re-living the 2000 election deserve to be left behind.

I am very glad to see that reports from both the Kerry and Bush campaigns are stressing the need to unify people after this election.

Bush has a real chance to leave a very positive mark on history here. I hope he makes the most of it.

OK MiniDork, seems my rewording was'nt acceptable to you. Nader hurt Kerry. Nader did not "cost Kerry the election" and I never intended for a quick glance I did at NM numbers to get blown so far out of porportion by you. I restated it, but, no keep kickin that dead horse and acting like an arse.

NM's Governor (a Dem) was the chairman of the Democratic convention and New Mexico has traditionally voted Democratic. So please, oh obtuse one, forgive me for using past and current history to base an opinion. I gotta admit, it's people acting this way that turns me off of the GOP. The frothing at the mouth is unbecoming. The we are better than you are attitude isn't attractive either.

I would'nt call it "LANDSLIDE BUSH". This shows how the country is still split pretty much down the middle. Kerry took a while to conceed, but as close as things were I can't blame him for waiting until they were thru counting all the ballots before throwing in the towel. Let's just hope Bush can bridge some of the problems dividing us and not drive a wedge further in them.

It's over, Bush won. Let's just hope we get thru the next four years.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Screw you, your sarcasm, and the leftist extremists like RPM.

Rational democrats(is anyone that voted for a man that gave aid and comfort to our enemy rational?) will step in line for the good of the country. For the next 4 years the lunatic left will continue thier assualt on the POTUS, specifically about the Iraq war since there is little else for them to complain about.  This will, in effect, cause the enemy to think that if they can hold on for four years they may get a whacko from the left in office and thus can survive.

The lunatic left can not be unified... there is no point in even trying.

No ... I think it'll be you that feels screwed once Bush and Kerry make their speaches today. Because what I'm hearing is that both sides will be reaching out to unify. If Bush's speach is what I expect it to be, he will be a "gracious winner" - a concept which is clearly lost on you.

Perhaps not a Bush landslide but certainly a Republican one.

The Presidency.

The Senate.

The House of Representatives.

A large majority of the state Gonvenorships.

With these, filling the Judicial branch will be a snap.

There could hardly have been a more fundemental and decisive shifting of political power in this country.  I don't think most people have even grasped the implications yet.

They were all close but you only have to win by one vote.  Its still a win.

The people have spoken.

On the other hand the Republicans have no more excuses and no one left to blame.  It will be interesting to see what they accomplish in the next four years with the vast powers they have been granted.  Its theirs to screw up.

If you think it's clearly lost on me, you're mistaken, maybe even a fool.

Of course Bush is going to reach out... in the end we are all Americans.  The lunatic left does not care about this and I doubt Bush will be speaking to them.

If you mean treating people in a reasonable manner, there is no reasoniong with the lunatic left.

If you are speaking of yourself well, you fired the first salvo.  look within before you criticize without.

Agree on point 1.

Using sarcasm to suggest to someone they should try to emulate the man they just voted for isn't the same as making direct insults - like you did.
