As I've said, there's a reason so many of us don't like a lot of Republicans. They're rude, they taunt when there's no need to, and they're generally full of themselves. This board shows that, and magnifies it.
I wonder if being nice for a change ever occured to these people.
Not all of us are Republican. Personally, I cant stand Bush. I just had to make a decision, and Kerry was worse.
And yes being nice occurs to me from time to time. I usually only get bent out of shape by a few people.
1) People who throw "redneck" comments around like they are candy at halloween. When you come from anywhere near the South, its like Jeff Foxworthy says. "You open your mouth and people deduct 50 IQ points automatically." Its just as much a stereotype as the ones some ignorant people throw at blacks.
2) People who use handicaps or disabilities as a meal ticket or "free ride" to live off the rest of us. I spent damn near a year flat on my back and several years after that in intense physical therapy with doctors telling me I'd liklely never walk again. Bullhockey. Yoda said it best. Do not try. Do, or do not. There is no try. Christopher Reeve didnt cry about what happened to him in public. He used his struggle to overcome his disability to be a role model. I'm sure there were nights he felt self-pity and cried over what he lost. But he didnt show it in public and didnt ask for anyone to feel sorry for him. If he'd only had the time, I'd have put money on him using his legs again, if not walking for real.
3) People who want something from you, and instead of asking politely they try to see how much they can get out of you by pushing. Most times I'll bend over backwards to help someone, if you just ask. But you better believe if you start pushing my buttons I'm gonna push yours.
Other than that, I'm a teddy bear! Who says I'm not nice?
