Need some advice from Arizonians
« on: November 06, 2004, 08:00:47 PM »
Hey guys, my girlfriend is coming out for a few days to visit around thanksgiving and we are planning a 2 day trip down to Mexico. Well I have never gone down there and im looking for some advice on where too go. We will be going down early on saturday and staying overnight then coming back sunday evening.

I have heard rocky point is nice but she is a spanish major in college and id like to go somewhere that is a little more authentic than that. The other factor is someplace where I know my car will be there the next morning.

Any advice would be really helpfull, thanks alot guys.

hell, go to Rocky point and have a blast.

What you don't want to do it go to some place that Americans do not frequent often.

The only safe places in Mexico for Americans are American tourist locations in my opinion.

Thats what I was thinking, just hoping to show her some authentic mexico, not american mexico. Although we could just drive around I gueess and visit some places then stay over night at Rocky.

LOL if she wasnt with me id be looking for some hot fishing spots. I have not been out since I moved from NY and its killing me.

RT, as soon as you get into Mexico, you will know it :)

It's pretty authentic, believe me.

Rocky point is the same distance from Phoenix as it is from Tucson....isn't that weird? 212 miles.

One word.

Tijuana.

It is at the apex of the hub of the vortex of paradise. An oasis, nestled in the heart of the Americas.

You may have a point there...

My journey to the soul of Mexico was with upstanding members of USC's Delta Sigma Phi...

We went to partake in its culture, its rich history, and its noble traditions. We were not dissapointed.

However, travelling there with a long distance internet girlfriend may be a different experience.

Indeed, and that was the entire reason for the trip. I was able to document so many of my buds lying face down in their own puke.

But my camera got stolen, and my dreams of emerging as a star on the art scene were crushed.

Sadly, 'Vomit Christ' will never be shown. My loss? Hell yeah. But it's a much deeper loss to the world.
