I have the X45, with a few adjustments and programing both stick and throttle buttons, I love it.
Graduating from a SideWinder, I *really* like the concept of using 2 hands.
I'm sure the X52 is better and I'll probably pick one up, soon as I build a faster machine, first.
When I first got the X45, I was a little hesitant towards liking it but it grew on me fast. I ended up using the two top draws in my desk, and building some 1x8 wood boards (2 about 18" long) to fasten to the top of an open drawer. They were made to slide inward or outward, I just used some wood block guides and all it did was sit on top of an open drawer. Once I had those I glued 1/2" medium-high density foam, used for road cases, with contact cement, and then mounted the sticks over the foam so it was a nice soft feel when I rocked them.
In other words, foam/cushion mounted sticks, on two boards, straddling the top right and left drawers. It truely works perfect, especialy the height at elbo forarm level.
When I want to fly I just slid the stick in over my legs, and when I didn't want to fly I'd push them back out so I could use my KB and an open desk top.
Doing this with the X45 really added to the immersion, all I need now is a set of pedals under the desk where my feet go and I'm so there.
I'll prolly replace the X45 with the 52.
