Are you freakin KIDDING me?!?
Jim Plunkett completed less than 50% of his passes careerwise, and in his two Super Bowl wins he was surrounded by great talent.
Bart Starr was on the best team in football and was no better than third or fourth among QBs for his day- Unitas, Jourgensen, Gabriel, Tarkenton were all better, and Tittle was as good.
Kenny Stabler isn't in the Hall of Fame, nor will he ever be- he threw more INTs than TDs, but that was partly because he threw games and shaved points to support his extravigant lifestyle and cocaine habit. He could have been better.
Jim Kelly is the biggest choke artist there's been since Linda Lovelace. You look at every Buffalo Super Bowl loss and you'll see it's because of Jim Kelly. He always fumbled, always threw that interception that cost the Bills victory. I'd respect him more if he'd have thrown all those Super Bowls because he had a drug habit- instead he choked because he sucks.
Troy Aikman had a good run, but Troy Aikman is mentally retarded. He DID have a committed owner willing to open his checkbook, a Hall of Fame running back, a Hall of Fame wideout, and a great coach who could explain the X's and O's of football so that even Troy could understand, but his career was short due to shots to the head- he never had much to give up to begin with, and today the poor bastard can't even tie his own shoes.
In short, Dune, you don't know beans about great quarterbacks, do you? Great quarterbacks are guys like Otto Graham- Sammy Baugh- Johnny Unitas- not that list of freakin losers YOU posted.
I suggest that in the future when us men gather here to discuss sports, cigars, firearms or whiskey you listen instead of throwing out your Annie Green Springs comments. Your list really pisses me off.
