As an overall head coach I'd have to go with Lombardi.

You guys that did complete teams.

How can anyone have an alltime team without including  the meanest, most ferocious and truely one of the top linebackers of all time Dick Butkus.
Actually the only one I think is his equal might by LT

Too bad NFL films seems to have taken its site down. They had a couple of real good films on him.

As Deacon Jones once put it.

"Butkus was an animal and when he hit you he tried to put you in the cemetary NOT the hospital"

He is the standard by which all linbavkers are measured against. Including LT

Or wear a dress

Or if your mommy wont let you play football

Jim Brown was a great RB, but when he played the average defensive lineman was about 240 and slow. Look at old films and you'll see there was no downfield persuit back in those days.

Too bad Bo Jackson got hurt or we'd see his name popping up on all-time teams.

I think coaches are the easiest to pick. That’s because the only thing that’s really important for a coach is winning, especially winning playoff games.

Lombardi’s regular season winning percentage of 73% (96-34-6) beats any of the competition, but his playoff percentage of 83% (10-2) is even better.

The closest are Belichek, whose playoff percentage is slightly better (88%) but his regular season is only 55% and Gibbs with 66% regular season (and dropping) and 76% playoff.

I like all the Night Train Lane picks.  Maybe the meanest player ever.  Great in coverage, great against the run, great hands, great ball stripping, great runback ability, and just absolutely pulverized whoever had the ball.  I have never laughed so hard watching an NFL films bio.

You are correct, Sir! I would pick Butkus over ANY linebacker. The meanest man to ever play the position.

Agreed.
Bo knew

Never saw such a phenominal or astounding athelete before or since.

Two plays will always stick out in my mind.

one in baseball where he literally ran up the wall and caught the ball thus saving a homerun

the other in Football where against the Seahawks Brian Bosworth was in position to make a textbook perfect tackle.

And Jackson ran over him like a Mac Truck
