I also would like to thank the experienced sticks who have taken the time to help me in the TA. Yes, I do belive that was me FlyBoy was doing his lame B&Z's on. Thanks again Flyboy, Fuzeman, Inyo, 1HungLo and many others for your time helping this nube.

If it was not for all of your help, I'm sure I would have given up on this game.

We welcome all who volunteer to help out in the TA, and we appreciate it tremendously

here is an example I ran into last week, I was up flying around with the peoples and this fellow Inyo wanted to try a round or 2 with me, He was pertty good in that La7, hats off to Bighorn ( I think he is the one teaching Inyo or helped teach ) for showing him how to use the La7 properly.

anyhow he typed out BS, that shouldn't happen , La7 should whip an F4U-1 hands down. After about 2 or 3 more trys he figured out what he was doing wrong and how to counter my moves.......and even bettered his ability to control E- throttle management, and flying out of plane

Our biggest problem is when we ask new flyers or not so new flyers if we can help them or answer any questions , they hesitate coming forward to ask. not all do this but most in my experience.

you are exactly right Tex, that is what everyone of us that have been here for shall I say 2 years or longer are, We are Mentors!

it is up to us to be a mentor to all the newer flyers and we can either guide them in a good mannered way and encourage them or we can do the opposite.

It is nothing more than a great feeling of pride when a year or so down the road when some gameid privates you after killing you in a long stretched out dogfight, and says thank you for teaching me about the game or about ACM, etc........you know you did your "job" well and it paid off for someone.

It is not a job, it is a will, I just could not find the appropriate word to use!

Dont ever hesitate to ask. The worst that can happen is: you get shot... But youll learn from that. A lot.

I have been goin in the TA since AH-1.

some of the best fun i have had in this game yet.

A person must be able to have patience and translate
ACM and other aspects of this GAME to someone who has no clue.

I,ve taught countless people to land,Immelman,Split S,High Speed Yo-Yo,and the Low speed Yo-Yo.

I have have even showed a couple of new pilots how to use trim control when dogfighting.

I would rather fly against well trained pilots then HO shootin dummies.and you are welcome TAcoKing

what do you mean by "worked better"

are you refering to the cadet list? or getting comped free time/money to your account for helping?

it is not about getting something in return outside of gratification knowing you helped someone learn something, if you are just in it to gain something besides that then I would not bother

just another opinion, not saying this is what you are refering to

with whats there its tough to keep track of your cadets and who actually wants help. I turned it off a long time ago because it would just spam me when someone on their 2 week trial logged on instead of letting folks hit a "click here for a trainer" button to request help. I enjoy helping folks out but would like to have a effective system to facilitate this rather than radomly trolling the TA.

It is way better to fly against them .

If someone needs help and asks,i respond.

Other than that i just fly around shooting at them,putting them in situations.

...and a few older pilots as well lol Just goes to show no one knows it all. You can bet I'll be in there in a few day to help wash the H2H stink off of me.

I love live fire training. Nothing let's you know that you've just made a mistake like a hail of bullets.

I was in the TA last nite.

For the last 2 days the new people have been askin the Veteran Pilotz to do some "Live Fire Training".

When they see a enemy plane appear,they treat is as "Hostile".

The Gun "Lethality" is set to it's lowest in there,I let them chase me for hours,and still thier bullets do nothing.

Half the time i land my Corsair on the Bish CV,still no effect from gunfire.

I always ask the people present before switching countries for live fire.

Rules are Rules i Know,But this live fire helps them alot better than shooting at someone with a Green Icon.

Every pilot i have worked with in the TA says that they learned twice as much as they were already learning before.

Maybe it's the way i put it down too them ,i don,t know,but
they are learning.

And as for slimm,Just because you were too proud to ask for a trainer,Doesn,t mean everybody else is.

Just my Opinion though.

I think alot of pilots are mad because,we are teaching the new people things some don,t learn until a year after they have been playing.

Anymore i log more time in the TA than i do in the MA,I just enjoy teaching people .

Granted i,m no top ten pilot cuz i don,t have enough time to play,
but i do know what is what and how to explain and show it to them.
