Just to name a few from the golden great years of the Cowboys. When each Sunday you were actually excited to watch em. My dad and I would sit in front of the TV and he'd call the penalties before they would say em. I thought "Now how did he see that?" Now I know.
It was a time when the Cowboys were really Americas Team. Everyone wanted to beat em. Everyone liked them. They seemed Tough and Rumble regular guys that played a kids game. I remember it well. Wearing the lil football uniform with the pads and helmet. Playing with the buds in the biggest yard.
Great times as a kid.
Jerry Jones becomes the new owner and the Cowboys took on a whole new light. Party and cocky. Coke and Women. They had a great Coach in Jimmy Johnson but they had no heart. The early Cowboys always played with heart in those days. Most teams did really but the Cowboys were my team then.
They are my team now. But with a different sense. If I'd miss a game in the old days it was a dang good reason. Missing a game now means nothing really.
I miss the old days when players , in most sports , played for the game. The money came but the love never left. In the NFL there isnt a handful that play for the liove of the game anymore.
Shame to......It really is the greatest game of the big 3.
