There has to be something not printed in this story, Pongo.

I believe they did destroy the trucks. It's not clear in the story but that is what the Army charged them with. I don't see that charge being levied if the trucks simply had the bumper numbers removed.

If they were tried by Court Martial and took a Jury then they have undergone IMO one of the fairest trials you can get.

Umm You might want to talk to my wife about that.

She was with me when I pushed an issue I was right on, all the way to a Court Martial after being falsely accused. Rather than accept Non-judicial punishment (Art 15) I went for the big bucks. Took 3 days at trial with a Jury. In the end Justice prevailed. Not only was I "Not Guilty" but the Command went after the crooked officer who lied to get out of trouble.

He WAS my commander. I think his favourite line now is "Would you like an apple pie with your purchase, Mam?"

what did happen? It seems to say that they changed the markings and dumped them off at bases..but the CO seems to be saying they destroyed the vehicles.

What I take from the article is that they didnt destroy the vehicles. They were not charged with destroying them. They didnt return them which thier CO interperates as the same as destroying them.

The only one I see doing the enemies work is the CO. But big supprise.

Gotta read the whole article, they weren't punished for usingthem, they were punished for erasing the military markings, and covering up that they used them..
