How many more players would create multiple accounts in order to pad their stats and increase their rankings for all to see?

Oh sure, now that we have all these beatifully and painstakingly prepared historical skins...especially some of the low-vis subdued and subtle Gray-Green schemes, lets splash on some garish swaths of color that makes it easier to spot them, and makes them look like some kind of flying harlequin or clown.

Such a typical juvenile attitude...Mr. Juvy wants to be able to single out the best pilots (because only they are trully worthy of his attention) so he can then Thump his chest on Ch 200 by saying something like "Look I just shot down Mr. Xyz...aren't I great!?". Grow up.

All you would really accomplish would be to make the current 'Best' pilots the target for alot of extra attention any time they showed up. Sorta like anytime a perk plane shows up now.

Or worse, all the rest of us 'Average Joes' would get singled out as 'easy meat' and 'score padding'.

Rank tells how good you play the game not how good you are at flying a fighter or driving a truck or bus.

However something historicaly correct like kills per sortie placing decals under your canopy would be neat, but largely unseen (who would be close enough?).

I think it would be helpfull.  If I saw the red marks I would stop the chase and go find another fight.  You would know that 'Ace' is not comming back and risk losing the red marks.

So, if you're ranked is 50 or below - every plane that you would fly would have a larger red fuselage band and maybe red wing bands.  That way it's not something noticable in the icon, but you'd only really see it once you're involved in a tangle. about 1/2 the size of invasion stripes. (about 4 feet?)

Could possibly do something like that for kill streaks..if you get 5 kills you get a greenband, yellow for 10, white for 15 blue for 20..ect....

too much scorewhoring as it is, it would just influence people to use the P51D and LA7 (which turn great) to just run.  And people will start caring about their scores again instead of just having fun. But i owuld like kill stars in the planes, and they would have different icons for 1,5,10,20,30...

mmm what about adding a * to your plane name or nic so you can flaunt your kill streak? One star for ever 5 kills, die and lose your *'s......
