seems like every time a company gets bought out, they kill flight sim projects as unprofitable, and put more money into the games I think suck

Looks like they only bought 19.9% of the company's stake...not really a controling stake in the company but a good chunk.

EA has a history of killin fantastic games.

EA is mainstream. EA is "arcade".

Flightsims arnt mainstream.

Sad to see Il-2 get killed, it will. It doesnt fit EA´s portfolio.

EA is since long boycoted by me. I dont buy any EA products.

I thought Ubisoft was simply the Western world's distributor for IL-2?    Isn't IL-2 owned by Maddox games?

Il2 will continue on, but maybe not for the western part of the world. 1C is the distributer in Russia, and Oleg Maddox has made it clear they will be continuing with pay add ons (1946 Eastern front What-If so far announced) for them.

We may see them if UBI agrees to release them.

There will be no more planes released for the western world that were built by Northrop, Grumman, Republic, or Vought.

A patch or two is on the way, with some new planes, and after that some new maps.

If EA completely buys out UBI, they will more than likely terminate Maddox's contract - which would then allow him to search for a new western publisher I believe.

What? They aren't even in the same category, they can't be competing.

I disagree... IMHO its one of the reasons HTC has been reviewing the eye candy recently (including the stick on the Ki-84). Its not that Ubi could ever compete with the online play, but too many people play for eye candy unfortunately.

Its all cool, so long as HTC doesn't stop working on my OD P38G. :D
