Just pointing out that some pray in school and it comes naturally regardless what others think.  But to absolutely ban prayer in school will never happen. period.

Now lets get back on topic.....

I remember in grade school we sang Christmas Carols and no one was offended.

There STILL isnt any such thing as Kwanzza. Its a BOGUS holiday invented by a criminal radical militant.

I dont see any reason why ANYONE woud even want to align themselves with such a peice of garbage.

But back when I was in school we sang a bunch of different things also.

My 8 year old daughters school has what I think is the right idea.
Everyone is asked to bring something in and write something about what it is they celabrate, why and how.
This IMO is the right way to go. Instead of excluding religeon and christianity in particular which seems to be the primary target.
We should be celibrating our religeous diversity.
And Christmas is primarily about Christ it is for everyone.

I know Jews that put up Christmas lights not to celibrate the birth of Christ but simply because they look so darn pretty.
I know many people From india who while they dont celibrate Christ, they do keep the tradition of Santa. and gift giving
They think this is a GREAT idea and always say "merry christmas"
Interestingly enough I had several Muslims even wish me a Merry Christmas over the last few days

Funny thing is many of these people  are more Christianlike then many Christians I  know.

They cant. Nor can they legally ban religious symbols
Because that WOULD be unconstitutional. Both in letter and original intent of the writing thereof.

Unlike this ban on schools celebrating Christmas which has taken the letter and the intent and twisted it to something it was never supposed to be. They cant. Nor can they legally ban religious symbols

They have put a spin on "Separation of Church and State".

Their inturpretation was not the intent of the Founding Fathers of the Constitution.

What...ban Christmas carols?  What is next, Christmas concerts?

Sorry, but if you emigrate out of your "home" country you should not complain about the traditions and celebrations of your "host".

My youngest biy has sat and watched the videos of his Christmas concert hundreds of times.  he is very proud of himself for singing and being involved.  My oldest...same thing.

Here's a taste:

Take this away from the kids?  I don't THINK so.

there are probably more actual "prayers" on commercial airplanes than there are in public schools.

"god, if you get me back on the ground i promise that ill never...."

i dont think that i had much of a concept of what a god might have been like in the 6th grade...other than that the creator seemed to side with my parents more often than with myself.

------

i have a tendancy to think that matters of spirituality are best left to either private institutions where a specific message can be bought and paid for or to the home arena where parents can lead thier children on the path that they choose...im not much for public brainwashing.

but then,   im not really "offended" at the idea of singing christmas carols at schools either.  i did.

there were other things that did far worse damage.

in areas where there is not a great deal of diversity...communities of christians for example it seems to be thier perogative both to defend thier right to be secular and to resist change to thier ways...yet it is difficult to justify any forseeable growth in thier doctrine without adjustments.

what is really happening is that society is seeking standardization and hemogeny... thus, all sorts of voices chiming in at the national level (where the standard is being set) wanting to get a seat at the negotiating table on how a pagean holiday turned breakaway judaistic cult turned catholic expansionist missionary inquest  turned sexy protestant divorce factory, turned commercial lemming spend fest is going to be celebrated next year.

standardization.  average faith for the average people.

merry McChristmas.  you want fries with that?

To answer your question.

If you want to know what people of other christian countries think about having politicaly correct nonsense rammed down their throats by socialists and joyless control freaks you will have to ask them yourself. I can't speak for them. But I'm willing to bet that there is plenty of people that detest the pc disease and those that propagate it, as much as I do.
