Well as long as there are no red streaks coming from it, you should be ok. Given that the wound doesn't continue to grow.

I had a daughter get bitten by a Brown Recluse.  Due to her being so "light" (under 80lbs IIRC) it spread throughout her lymphatic system w/ the "red streaks" as you said.  That will "only" happen though if you under 80lbs.  With some anit-biotics she was eventually ok after a week or so.  We had a vacations scheduled roughly a week after the bite, and while on our trip the bite got infected, and the infections spread throughout her body in her lymphatic system and we ended up at the local hospital for three days while she fought it off.

Was VERY touch and go, and she ended up being ok in the end.  If you seek medical attention soon 'nuff B/R bite is no big deal (if you weigh 'nuff it stays localized in the area of the bite) but the key is to stop it A.S.A.P.

After what happened to my daughter, I have a "bit" o' experiende w/ B/R bites and what all can happen.

You are almost descibing to a "T" the initial manifestations of shingles, the exception is no soreness aroud the site. I would have a Physician look at this if you haven't already. Good luck, and I hope everthing turns out well...

wife got bit by a recluse on her boob.  It turned red and flaky, but didnt blossom intot a full blown necrosis nightmare.
Anyway, I think you are out of the brown recluse zone.

We have  lots of black widows here but the good thing about them is that they stay in their web. You are not likely to get bit by a black widow unless you get  into it's web.

The bad thing about the brown recluse is that it likes to hide in boxes, clothes and other crap that humans use.

The black widow has got to be the most evil, creepy looking spider on earth. I get chills thinking about those fuggin things.
