ok slap but that is just my point... you can go where the bar is completely green or completely red but base capture is the thing not the fite.   it is the horde.. you can be part of the horde or fight it but either way... it is pure luck if you find a fite that lasts very long before the mouse weilders show up.

If you fly the sector and a half to something that looks like it might be a good fite..... it is a bust by the time you get there... either your "teammates" take out the fighter hangers (and leave the VH for some reason)  or...  you are met by 20 la7's

It's funny to see how myopic some can get. Tons of resources on 100 trying to capture one base while all the other bases fall around it ... sometimes ya just got to cut your losses and re-focus.

Ya gotta love when someone pulls the "rank" thing ... truly shows who hasn't a clue.

You know, for some one with a score like yours, you seem to have a lot of opinions.  Why don;t you spent a little more time improving your score (lets say below 50)?  Then you can talk to us about how to play the game.

Yup ... I agree. That is why, for the most part, I play the "defend" role. I scan the map looking for the intial wave of an attack (looking for blinking airbases with no dar dots) and seek out my fights there. I especially look at bases that are more vunerable to CV attack as they usually provide the better fights with Seafires, A6Ms, and F6Fs caused they are forced to fight when encountered ... F4Us just blow by and do the pork/auger thing.

Airbases that are more likely to see an attack from another land airbase usually lend themselves to bringing the run90s, run09s, runstangs, LaLa, and N1Ks. For the most part, there aren't any fights in this scenario but sometimes ya get lucky.

There's nothing wrong with the strategic bombing of toolsheds.. er.. factories. In all seriousness, it *does* help the team effort if it's capitalized on. 1 quick flattening every 2 hours extends the downtime of flattened/porked bases. If one side's factories are at 100%, and the other is at 0%, then you have a decided advantage when the horde is rolling forward.

Yes, bombing toolsheds is boring, but if you ignore the score-whoring portion of it, it does help out your side in that zone. If it weren't worth points/perks, it'd be a thankless job nobody would want to do :)

And don't forget the great fights you can have against the maned 5" guns that can pick you off when you are 300 feed of the water and d200 from your next victim, whaaaah

You sure can tell it's Christmas vaction with the kiddies.

Feels like a definate difference in the MA, at least when I've been in there.

TC I hear ya!

I cant imagine being a new guy to online gaming and having someone in here talk to me like some have. Some are downright mean. "Kill the FHS...we are trying to get a goon in!"..."No dont kille the FHs, we want to vulch a while!.....great..(name) you idiot why the *(&)( did you kill the FH?

There are atleast 4 camps in here...probably more.
1. Land grabbers..I call Realtors. They go in low and try to kill the base and town and try to capture.

2. The Purists...they fly seriously, try to survive, wont commit to a land grab if it endangers them. More concerned with the realistic aspects of the game, rather than the map.

3. The Score-potatos...prefer vulching over anything else, dont cooperate with Realtors at all, mouthy to anyone who defies their opportunity to vulch, and seem to rtb just as the goon appears at the base.

4. The Fuggits...usually armed with a mixed drink or a cold beer, in between smoke breaks...come in, fly die, have fun their own way, usually a mix of those stated above.

Its hard to get all camps organized in one direction. The main thing is to have as much fun in the game as you can, and to use a little self discipline in watching what you say to fellow players. What we do here in the game impresses nobody in the real world. We dont go sit around bars in town picking up the ladies on our AH prowess.

Alot of folks who play here and in other games are lonely, socially "retarded" individuals, who never learned to play nice with other kids. Thats life...when they surface, its best to ignore them and squelch them. To try to defend your online honor is as pointless as his arguement. Just laugh to yourself, and pity the poor soul. This game may be the only thing that person has going for him.

I think you're right to a point Filth, but I don't think it's quite so definative. I can hold my squad up as an example... During the week, and most of the days, we furball or GV it. If a vulch is on, I'm not ashamed to take part in it. In a sick part of my mind, I like the race for kills. I like a good GV spawn camp too. We encourage everybody to do 1 milkrun + 1 GV run a day for scorepotato purposes. If E starts to equalize and there's alot of bad guys, I'm taking my toys & going home. We'll up GV's & fighters in defense until a vulch gets on (or I get tired of trying to HO people in a Yak-9T... takes 2 to go nose to nose!) Beers, mixed drinks, & smoke breaks aren't uncommon. Then it's squad night. We hang an open for business sign on the door, and grab up land as fast as we can.

Being in 1 camp is one thing, but imho, it's much better to get a taste of everybody's world :)

If we did it on a fuzzy-logic scale, I'd say I'm 0.2 land grabber, 0.2 purist, 0.2 score potato, 0.4 fuggit

Points & perks. You don't get them when you land sorties?

edit: I'll be more specific on that. I personally like flying Arados. If I have to bomb toolsheds into submission to get perks fast for one, then so be it.

I deleted my account for awhile & restarted a week into December. Had some perks briefly, then I ripped the wing off a 262. I think I have maybe 150 total perks at the moment. Sorry lazs, not everybody has enough time invested to up an endless amount of perk rides... even those of us that love a good fight.

Points are good for absolutely nothing, except, I like being able to look at a scoreboard & go, "Cool, my squad is #6". I like looking at my score & going "Okay, gotta pickup the pace on fighters, bomber score is on track, doing fine on jabo, but need more GV time". It gives me a direction to go other than "up-fight-land/die-repeat". That gets way too repetative for me. If there's a scoreboard that will give me at least some sort of measurement for progress, I'm not ashamed to use it, even if people think it's a joke. At least I'm practicing all facets of the game and trying to get better.

I'm thinking maybe y'all hate vulchers & 2 pc, self-killing dweebs so much that y'all are blinded to any kind of benefits in the system.
