When i was new to AH i thought score is important. I also liked the land grab and teamwork part. I still do it sometimes, i'm usually playing along if the team i'm on shows cohesion. It's simply cool when guys work together.
That said, the score and land grab part put blinders on me for quite a while. In reality, in my best scoring days, my flying skills were abysmal .. even with a rank <100.
It's a whole new game when you finally realise "score means NOTHING". I still suck as a pilot but after noticing that ACM doesnt equal
"IF your_E > opponent_E THEN engage() ELSE run()"
Aces High has become a whole different game for me, lot of stuff to discover and most importantly a boatload of fun.
My hope is i'm not the last one who discovers this..

Well, I have to say I have a lot of hobbies, and if I really wanted to seriously learn something it wouldn't be immersing myself in ACM.  I think this game is fun, and the fights where you tangle with guys is great.  But if I want to spend time learning something there are other things I could pick that would actually make me money rather than making me spend more of it.  I've been taking f4fs into fights just to make it more fun.  Heck I fly almost every plane in the game just cus I enjoy it.  But, there is also something else I get out of the game...  release of work related stress.  As far as that is concerned this is my graceland.  When I hook up with 15 guys and we go hit a base, if we have cap and guys start upping, I won't lie to you guys.. I vulch um, and I probably smile when I do it cus like I said, this is a stress reliever.  Taking B24s and leveling a city... oh yeah, set it ablaze!  Roast the infadels!!!!  Good times.

Until Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas becomes available on Xbox and I can get points for lighting up as many gang members as I can with a flamethrower in a minute, I will take pleasure in the little things like mentioned above and if that means I'm not working my way to the best fighter pilot, then so be it, cus I be happy  :aok

indy... you missed my point about the friggin perks... I have no use for em..  the reason I have so many is because I fly the "less capable" planes.   I have no interest in flying a 262   I rarely (maybe half a dozen times) fly a perk ride..  I flew the tempest but you can't get killed in it if you pay attention so why bother.

....got told to keep my mouth shut till I got my score up ....

I got told this not long ago as well. SOOOO...I promptly flew above the said General and watched him die a glorious death at the hands of 6 Flaks. Strange when there was like 10-12 at the start and all I said was you should prolly kill the VH first.

Thats of course when I got told to shut up "Newb". Your score suks and so do you he said.

The General lost all his buds and died as I rtb'ed with my 3 lil kills.

Ahh its good to be a newb.

I've found two great ways to die in a Tempest while paying attention...

1) Attack a buff group too casually and happen upon a good gunner.
2) Subject yourself to ground fire, be it puffy ack, field AA, or AA GV's.

havent I heard all this before??

I guess things havent changed much in AH. Of course I wouldn't know because I got sick of the lame gameplay long ago...... to bad all these reports suggest it's still the same...... LAME.

And I was once in a squad where we (bout 6-7 of us online at the time) all decided to take tempests up in a big group, 1 out of the group landed, another was shot down, ALL the rest got booted and lost said perk points. " c o n.....spiracy"

I had many perk planes brake for lame reasons. Once barely overshot runway in a 262, figured "no problem ill just turn around on the grass here and roll back onto the runway". it was as if there was a 2foot curb on the edge of the runway, 262 just blew up! Yet another great AH experience!

But I did enjoy my first few years, seems so long ago now....

Sorry but who cares....over the last 4 times I quit I left 10,000 perkies at least...who cares what happens to any one plane...
