Our involvement with the UN is a waste of time. Them protect us - that’s a joke and a half. Ever see the special on History Channel about Executive Outcomes, the most infamous mercenary company in operation today. Within a month of Sierra Leone's hiring of Executive Outcomes in May 1995, government forces had regained control of the diamond-rich Kono district. The UN came in and took over because they did not like the concept of "A private military for hire" and what happened; it all fell apart in a week. They couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag if they tried. If I had my way the entire UN building in Manhattan would be shipped to the first sorry *** nation that wants it. Get them OUT! I'll help them pack and move too - GET OUT FORIEGN TRASH! Take your diplomatic immunity with ya!
I saw that show and it was amazing. Amazing that a small group of private soldiers ( who had extensive battle experience) were able to secure that country and snuff the rebels out.
Of course, the UN was alarmed at the prospect of private armies, so they pressured the government to end the contract with Executive Outcomes.
You guys should try to view that show. Amazing.
Then the UN comes in with tens of thousands of troops and the rebels begin slaughtering everyone again.
Executive Outcomes said that if they had been allowed to leave just 30 men there, that would have been enough to keep order.
The UN absolutely screwed everthing up, as usual.
