For you SOX, AWMac, etc.

Rottweiler

Unlike the Bull - after he got one taste, that was enough for him. Good call by the assisting Officer to use the Taser. Poor backdrop to shoot in - To many people around especially children, plus homes.

RPM - Maybe a bunch of guys could wrestle the dog to the ground instead of using the taser?

The owner of the dog should have got a ticket for failing to control
his animal.
And do they not have a leash law in that city?

Wrestle down a Rott?  You have to be kidding me with this statement.  The owner is lucky the officer didn't shoot the dog.  That video should have been enough to show the dog is a threat to the community since the owner can't keep it restrained.  Had that been a child or even someone who is less agile and aware they would have surely gotten bitten.  If they can't control their animals and they will attack like this Rott did they should be put down.  It's not the animals fault but to keep the community safe from such events the animal should be put down.  It'd be nice to see dog owners be more responsible with their animals.

I own two 80 pound Dobermans and I'd like to see someone wrestle either one of them into submission.  It just won't happen.  The difference is my dogs will not be aggressive to anyone outside of my yard.  Nor will they be aggressive towards people that I introduce to them atleast once or twice with me around at the same time.

This just makes me sick to my stomach. I am a BIG animal person...BUT, that dog needs to be put down and the owners need to be slapped with a restraining order from ever owning animals. The dog was doing what it was bred to do, attack. It's not the dogs fault, but it should be humanely as possible put down.

Fricken breaks my heart too.

Cobra I think he's ribbing RPM about his anit-tazer stance that he made in another thread.

What I find horrible is the fact that somone has to get hurt by the dog before they put it down.

Why is the dog the bad guy in all of this?
It's the azzhat that owns him responsibility to make sure the dog does not get free to hurt any one.

But what will happen is the dog will hurt someone and will be put down.
Yes the dog will pay for his owners stupidity:mad:

I got $100 bucks says that the owner has trained that dog to hate/attack cops (well the uniform at least)   cause it obviously wasnt racial being both the owner and cop were of the same ethnicity

Your right it is very very sad that people take a dog like that and fa-Q its mind up sooo badly that at this point it is not reversable!  and that owner should never be allowed to have a dog!

I see Gunslinger.

Wombatt unfortunately the dog does end up being the bad guy in the end.  If the dog killed someone from an attack then there isn't much you can do to the owner other than fines and maybe some jail time.  I'd have to say most animals that are like this are trained to be like this by their owners.  Proving that in court though is a different story.  What can be proved is the actual attack itself which will in turn get the dog put down and maybe fines and jail time depending on the state.

I'd prefer that the owners are held responsible especially in such cases where the animal is acting beyond what is considered normal in a certain breed.  To many people make a mistake when they try to put a label on certain breeds of dogs.  I've been told so many times Dobermans are aggressive and incapable of being around children.  The most my Dobes have every done was knock over my brothers daughter when they got hyper because she was giving them treats.  Though their tails are small, their butts wiggling with the tail still do damage.

It is the owners fault but the dog will end up getting the shaft because the owner is irresponsible.

For every kid who has had his face ripped off by a dog, I'd like to see 100 of these beasts put down and their owners locked up.

So it only makes a difference if it's a kid that gets hurt?  And why a 100 dogs when not all dogs nor owners act this way?  Just because it's an animal doesn't mean it's an object you can just dispose of at your leisure.

Because it's a dog and most people immediately think this breed equals bad which means we should exterminate that breed because it's the breed that is the threat and not the humans that own them.  Genocide on the canine community is the right answer.

Guess anytime us humans kill someone we should kill a 100 humans of the same breed or same country.

that cop had good reflexes on the initial lunge.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.

threat of getting shot works on more than just crooks.

it seems to me the rott attacked because of the cop's attitude.
the rott was in a protecting mode, is the way it looks to me.
