Nutbag Marine Commits Suicide by Cop

I saw this story today... it happened about a mile away from my father's house.

Be sure to take a look at the videos:

It's not exactly graphic, but the video might upset you (you've been warned).

The thing I noticed that differentiates the video from the typical "America's Most Wanted" video is how he shoots and immediately advanced towards the officers.

Does the miltary have any systems in place to first find and then help men like him who might be suffering mentally or emotinally from war?

What a ass, why could he have not just shot himself?

Is there a way to donate to the officers family?

Grun,

Yes they do but there has to be some kind of indication that the soldier is having problems or a request for help.

There is insufficeint info on the news site to determine there was any idea this guy was having problems.

to the Officers who responded. and RIP to the fallen Officer.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Hey don't be so quick to judge there.
Have you been to Iraq and seen the horror's this kid has?
Well neither have I but we have seen pictures a videos which mean nothing compared to what he must have gone thru.

Some people snap under the pressures of war so until you have walked in his boots don't judge.

And it is a tragedy to all who lost there lives RIP.

He murdered a man in cold blood, there is not justifaction for that no mater what he saw.

I have the tons of respect for the guys over there and who serve, (the real ones) but this guy murdered another person instead of just offing himself or seeking help. There is NO justification for that.

Think about what you just posted.

If he had the where abouts to make a conscious decision he would have not been mentally Ill.
It is obvious that he went wacko and was not thinking right so how was he to make the right choice?

I have seen insane people and have worked with them and I can tell you that they simply do not think like you and I.

The do not reason or think things thru at all they simply act out on impulse often never remembering what they did.

Now if he was simply pissed about having to go back to sand land and  wanted to go out in a blaze of glory this is still not rational thinking is it?

I've been to combat and will be going back.

All I have to say WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I can't stand idiots who blame "the horrors" of combat for their problems.  Yes combat is horrible.  He volunteered just as I and everyone else did.  Nobody twisted his arm and you have to be an idiot not to know what your getting into.

He is just another jerk who had problems BEFORE he went and now the world will hand him a crutch.

Loser.  The real victim is the poor police officer and his family.

You you what Crumpp, that in no way is going to change the fact that some will go home with serious mental and emotional problems.

Sure it will.  In most cases it will amplify existing problems.  Combat does not make normal people want to see more violence or inflict it on others.  Combat makes normal people wish there was a better way.

Very few actually, but I guara-Golly-gee-tee you that in twenty years the last of the "Viet Vet Need Help" cardboard sign holding streetcorner panhandlers will be replaced by a new generation of "Iraq Vet Need Help" panhandlers...

It is patently unfair to even bite off on Delayed Stress Syndrome BS as it stigmatizes those that served well, and with honor, and have gone on to be norbal, productive citizens. The two things I hate most in the world are posers and whiners, and most streetcorner "Vet" panhandlers are both.

<> to you Crump, and Thank You. Stay safe and when this whole nasty business is finished take pride in what you have done, because you are doing something honorable.

Most that I see are also about 10 years too young to have fought in Vietnam.
