My spyder never gave me an issue on the field of play.

In reference to your other post I can remember the first time I ever went to a field to play wood ball. I was using a simple brass eagle gun and took out this guy shooting a spyder, he got so pissed it was great. Then I got lit up from behind, that hurt.

As stated, I have owned a single, just ONE Marker for 8 years, a Tippmann 68 Carbine. The ONLY problem was the copper expansion tube is now a stainless steel braided line.

I KNOW how to maintain, as did the OTHERS I play with. They NEVER went through a day without a problem with a Kingman Spyder, NEVER. I have heard this from others. It is luck of draw when it comes to Spyders.

Normally I keep a tight lip until my bull**** detector is lit up like a christmas tree - so for the sake of those who have played for a very long time (like your self) - realize that the 80's and 90's were a time when paintball was still frowned upon as an underground sport with little backing whether corperate or otherwise.

That being said - the quality of what we used then (with perhaps the exception of my Prolite which I can immerse in water literally for days and still play without issue) has improved by leaps and bounds - and your argument was basically nullified by better QC and simplified designs.

But accusing someone on the board of not knowing their **** without a shred of proof of knowing their background - well - to be perfectly honest - it doesn't engender much in the way of trust of your opinions.

My tippman 68 was bullet proof. In fact, when 'cockers came out, I brought my '68 along as back up.

Id love to find 60 cal paintballs for my Tippman SMG-60 long barrel. I had a second one I sold on eBay to a special effects division of Paramount. They wanted everything, stripper clips (the plastic pieces that held the paintballs) and anything else I was willing to part with. They told me they use a special paint pellet with a spark "charge" for action movies, etc. Beats me, they sure paid top dollar!

i dont know about new model spyders bout I had a compact and an SE, and those were two of the most basic and trouble free guns I've ever owned. never had any trouble with either of em, and back then the spyder was cutting edge in an era where most fields rented pumps.

i really want to pick up a sheridan p-68 someday. i've always wanted one something fierce, but ebay prices are ridiculous. 175 some guy is asking for one.
