Milwaukee school protesting pres Bush
« on: January 27, 2005, 10:53:33 AM »
from local news:

MPS teacher rewarded inauguration protest
A Milwaukee Public Schools teacher rewarded members of an eighth-grade class for wearing black on inauguration day, an MPS official confirmed Wednesday.

"The implication was that it was a sign of protest against the inaugural," MPS spokeswoman Roseann St. Aubin said Wednesday of the incident at the Milwaukee Sign Language School.

The school's administration did not know how many students responded to the call to wear black, but it was reported that those who did were rewarded with pizza on inauguration day, St. Aubin said.

St. Aubin said MPS has a policy against political advocacy, and that the school responded to the incident according to that policy. But, because the incident was a personnel matter, St. Aubin declined to discuss how the school responded.

She confirmed that the teacher was still working at the school.

Does the pizza really matter MT?  Why is a teacher calling for students to wear black as part of a political protest?  I'd really like to see someone explain why this is acceptable.

childrens prayer in school.

dear lord, please guide the commander in chimp through these trying days.

and let him be strong against the forces of evil and darkness that exists in everyone who doesnt think like you.

and lord, will you please bless the bush children...they dont want to use drugs, the liberals make them do it.

just like they did for the president before he swung his addictions to the righteousness of god all that is vengeful and linear thinking about you oh lord.

and forgive karl rove oh lord for his malignings and falsehoods.   he was only doing his best to destroy all that is left of the other half of american values...may his lies be holy oh lord.

oh lord, let us answer the eternal question ..."what would jesus  bomb?"

and bless condi rice for battling satan in the form of barbara boxer.  all questions are the devil oh lord...we pray we may never have to ask them.

we thank you oh lord for hearing our prayers.

god bless the usa...and #@$! everyone else.

amen.

would be wrong in either case.  imho.
lets leave the kids out of it.
this thread is doomed.

The teacher did something stupid and the school responded according to their policy.  I'm betting the kids will survive.

The quote does not say the "Call to wear black" came from the teacher.

Sure would like a link to this. The Mil. Fox station doesn't mention a thing about it... weird huh? I still call BS.

It doesn't take a member of mensa and a 4th grade reading level to figure out what happened.

The teacher told her students that if they wore black in protest of Bush's inauguration, should would reward them with pizza.

How bout if a teacher had kids wear all white, including pointy hoods on MLK day in protest of him being the only person in the history of humanity to have a holiday named after him?

that ain't right....   Kids should be able to protest that shouldn't they MT?
