Lephty,

Sorry bud.  I can't vouch for my webhost.  I might be pushing their download limit.  It would be nice if HTC or someone with more pipe could host the file for me.  I'd hate to get a bill from my webhost for the amount of download I went over my limit.  Not even sure what my limit is.

Robert,

I recommend "Goldwave" as an inexpensive sound editing util.  I have found it excellent and well worth the registration.  My samples were taken off a Movie studio sound effects library cd.  So they were pretty pure, high quality sample (at least before I got ahold of them. ;> ).  I'm not really sure how you'd separate the sound channel out of an avi, but I imagine it can be done.

Regards,
Wab

Wab,

We are working on an installer for your sounds and we will host the download.

Thanks for contributing to the Aces High community.

Thanks AKWabbit, sorry it took me so long.  We'll just use your installation.  Do you mind if we change the name of the .exe?

Whatever name you like is ok with me.

I've had 2 separate individuals test this new exe but please test it one more time before putting it on your site.  Yeah, I'm parinoid now.    I hate making someone do a 8meg download for nothing.

TT,

Sorry bud, wish I knew how.  I had some great "power-dive" samples but the way AH is written the diff throttle settings are merely frequencies of the base engine sound.  So thats down in the code not in the samples.

Maybe if they added a new sound for overspeed like they have for the stress groan.  Blend it in and out.
overspeed.wav....hmmmmm.

I have also been making gun sounds, when I got bored to those...

There is couple sounds mixed and few more realistic ones with names on them.

i changed the wind sound to an engine sound so when u get up to speed it sounds like the engine is reving. only thing that sucks about it is when you go dead stick you still have engine sound.

I installed these and tried them out last night. This is some great work AKWabbit!
I'm going to try Fishu's gun sounds tonight and see how they are.

One question? The stall sound changed of course but now it's got me screwed up a bit flying. How can I get the old stall sound back?

Westy,

Just delete or rename the stall.wav sound in the plane directories.  Then it will use the original stall sound that AH shipped with.  You can also copy over it from the base sounds directory, that will do the trick as well.
