as for the golf.. give me some time, I just took it up and started giving it some "honest effort."

Let me know when you take up pool Shane with honest effort, then we'll play. Hell, I'll even spot you five balls off the break every game. That would be like you taking 25 rounds and 1/16 tank of gas in your Lala 2 sectors away from a friendly base.

Being that you are new to golf, and I've been playing for about 10 years now, let me ask you for a newbie point of view:  If I'm in your face every hole, laughing about every mistake you make... at the end, you gonna take up my offer to go to the range?

The question is rhetorical, cus I know the true answer.  You try to put on a good show, but these folks are wise to your soapbox BS, better put together some new material before you resume the anklehumping.

Nopoop:  You should really take a look at the ball washer on the 6th hole... you can put 4 balls in at one time, and it spins end over end  :D

lol, i wouldn't be crying if you got in my face, i'd be laughing at myself before you. nor would i get 4 buddies to harrass *you* while you try to sink that 8 foot putt by walking across ur line, hovering 6 inches behind you, pulling at your club on your backswing.

nor would i make you walk while i used a cart and then speed ahead after every shot "finding" my "errant shots" or have a buddy waiting on the green to move my approach shot to within 3 inches of the hole, while kicking yours into the bunker.

what i'd do is, probably listen to any swing tips you may have, work on getting better to the point where i have a much better chance vs you.

i'd not refuse, not try harder, remain sucking, then follow you around while you play your game humping your ankle all the way.

or we could play golf the AH way...  you vs me and 2 buddies and we play scramble to your scratch.

sure if i ever decide to take it up seriously.

what confuses me tho is with all the geometry involved in pool, why you're having a hard time translating that to the 3 (or 4 depending) dimensions of AH? i mean don't you plan your next shot(s) while ur setting up for the current one?

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Actually most of the time I can plan the whole table in advance. Any pool player with some experience knows that making the shot is the easy part.

Actually in pool.. making the shot is the hard part.

Well, making the shot and making the cue ball go where I want to go after I make the shot is the hard part.  Just ignoring the leave and making the shot is usually pretty easy, but if I try to hard to get the cue ball to go somewhere I usually end up missing the shot.

Anyway Batfink..  in my opinion the Niki was rather severely nuetered with the introduction of AH2.  I don't know how, or why.. it just handles much differently than it did in AH1.  In AH1, I could take a niki and hang with a Spit 5..  in AH2 I can't even go 'round with a Spit 9 in one.

I'm talking from a strict min/max perspective.. the La7 and the Spit5 offer the most advantages with the least disadvantages of all the planes we've got.  Some other planes are close, for example the Spit 9 is very close to the Spit 5, but the very marginal gains in top speed don't balance out the rather larger penalties you take in manueverability.  The P-51 is close to the La-7, but you take a large hit in acceleration.  The 109G-10 is much closer in acceleration, but is slightly lacking in every other category.  So from a strict "How do I maximize my advantages while minimizing my disadvantages" you've got two choices.

Now, there are other things you can do.  For example, always flying around in a largish pack will do much to minimize the disadvantages of flying an unmanueverable plane.  But that is rather out of the scope of this conversation.

By the way, if anyone in the Maryland area would like to teach me how to play golf, I'd gladly take you up on the offer.  I've always sucked very much, and you'll get to hear my funny story about why I don't play golf any more.  My dad loves it though, and I'd enjoy going out and playing with him.  However... as it stands now I am a hazard to the public, so I choose not to put myself (or others) in any danger by hitting the links.

You're right, the leave is the hard part, and since the leave is part of the shot, I should have made that clear. I used to teach billards/pool to beginners and it was difficult at times to make them understand that.

I think ive gotten more crap on private than ever since flying la7 mostly last tour. It is a sick ride and usually takes more than one con to kill it. Which is exactly why its fun to fly..i had a blast last tour and i dont see any reason to stop flying it since "fun" is the name of the game. Seeing all the insults handed my way is particularly entertaining. As far as choosing the best equipment and not testing yourself.....if nobody can compete with you in a spit 5 isnt that the same thing? I remember hearing alot of wtgs and nice flying after i got blasted in my zero fighting 5 or 6 cons in a fight.."great moves man" they told me after i picked lead outta my arse...was nice to hear props from other players but in the end it was fun for them...not me.
