Haven't heard from Bill= since he popped up in our squad forums.  He's in law enforcement working on some joint DEA task force in the SouthWest so we sometimes go a long stretch without hearing from him.  Maybe Jackal1 knows more since he's able to get in more frequent contact with him.

N1K2-J would out-turn Ki-84.

i think they reffering to the way a n1k can turn real tight at 40mph without any serious control problems mitsu :) .

but the FW.. i thought the only problem with them was the missing WEP power from the injection system... anyone care to elaborate?

According to Crumpp, the Fw190A-8 should handle better and easier than the A-5... And the Fw190D-9 should be the best turning Fw190 ever.. and the Ta152 would be outturning the Fw190D-9.

Also, IIRC Crumpp mentioned that our Fw190A-5 is actulally modelled after the data of a Fw190G. So, the Fw190A-5 should be faster than it is, but climb worse. Also, the Fw190A-8 should be faster..

... or something like that. :D

Yeah seriously every time I've flown the A8 level at altitude it never even gets close to its rated top level speed, and that's even with the 2 cannon package I usually take with it.  I don't think I've ever cracked 375mph in level flight in it.

I never knew that the A8 could outturn a A5.  Not that it matters, 190's  turn like lumber wagons.

But I have seen discussion that the 190's could deploy flaps for manuevering, at least at round 250mph or some thing like that.

All in all the A8 is an unbelievably deadly machine if flown to it's strengths,  which are speed in the dive, massive fire power, good views, and long range.  It is a BNZ dream. :D

I couldn't care less if they changed a thing about the A8, you learn to fly her right just as she is, and she will amaze you.  :aok

Fly her wrong, and you are a target.  But I suppose you can say that of any plane.
