Some questions from a newbie
« on: February 12, 2001, 05:58:00 AM »
Sorry if you've answered these questions a million times:

Is the carrier available in offline play? How do you get on it?
How do you padlock a friendy? I enabled friendly padlock by pressing shift-tab and F11 but nothing will padlock.
What is the main arena in online play?
What is a good altitude to use the B-17 at?

Thanks.

Yes, select it as you would select any field.

What is the main arena in online play?
The MA as we call it is a giant WAR consisting of up to 200 players in various planes, vehicles, boats and whatnot bombing other teams refineries, capturing fields.

There are the Countries
The ROOKS
The Knights
The BISHOPS

YOU WILL LOVE THE MA.

What is a good altitude to use the B-17 at?

Well there is like totall NO bomb dynamic modelling in AH meaning that you can hit a fly with a single bomb from 40,000 feet, so basicall you can fly as high as you want and hit everything with pinpoint accuracy (which is a Joke IMO) however i fly ALL bombers between 20 and 25 thousand feet for long range rades and at around 15 thousand feet for short range raids.

Hope that helps.

Ok, thanks. I was just wondering about the carrier in offline play, I have never seen it on the map except when I'm online, I seem to have looked everywhere on the map but I will look again (it has the same airfield icon pawn thingie right?).

Yes, the carrier is available for offline play.

Look on the map for a small green icon that's out over the water.  There will normally be red arrows indicating the carrier group's waypoints on the map near the carrier group as well.  If you are having trouble seeing the entire map, you can zoom/unzoom the map by right-clicking the +/- buttons.

You can padlock friendlies, but you must toggle that option first by hitting CNTRL-TAB.  http://www.hitechcreations.com/cgi-bin/frames.pl?page=padlock    The help section on the web site is quite good, so be sure to check there.  A good read through the help section will answer a lot of your questions.

Hi sinkhole,
To find the carriers (There are 2) click on "map" on the clipboard then looking at the Fields listing there are 3 type of field A Airfield C Carrier P Port & V Vehicle. Just s scroll through until you find the C fields and click on them.

Hope this helps
