Cap the field idea is the best. All that is needed is one person to say go and it's on. After the first push you would have great 2v1 1v1 and so on. I had fun seeing all of the horde of red dots at the same alt. WoT on average has 7 to 10 guys on during the evenings we could do this as a informal event. Lately I have been getting bored of main and would love to hop in the DA for a quick duel with my squad. If we could keep it to squads that have some respect for each other it should be fun.

Idea is to look at the roster see if their is another squad on the list that has the same number of players and ask them if they would like to have a squad duel in 30 minutes. Sometimes this would not work because they are on a mission but last night at 10:00 central when their was 650 players on I know we would have done it out of frustration of alt monkeys and la7 drivers. It would have been a good hour dueling fun to off set main.  I like to duel but i also like to to listen people complain because they got picked lol.

We need a list of friendly squads that would be willing to do this.

I had fun regardless, but I think a game of Capture the Flag is the way to go.  That way no Alt Caps or plane restrictions (though I do think No Perk Rides allowed).  If you Die, just re-plane and come back.  Here's the rules I would suggest.

1. No Perk Rides
2. No leaving the sector. If caught you must auger and replane.
3. If your caught cheating in any way (i.e. Perk plane, ect.) your disqualified and not allowed to continue. (Or possibly a penalty box for 5 mins like Hockey)
4. If your told by the Event Leader you are in violation and ignore them, your TEAM loses.
5. The Event Leader should not participate in the Event other than to be the Moderator or Referee. (possibly the event leader could fly a 262 around to keep an eye out, that way everyone knows the Jet is Neutral.)
6. Each Side should have a Captain, The Event Leader should talk strictly to the Team Captains only. The Team Captain should be controlling his TEAM.
7. A Cap should be considered when no opponents plane is in the air anywhere in the designated sector. Rolling down the runway is NOT Airborne.
8. The Event Leader will Decide when a CAP has been established and call the win.
9. Yes, Vulching is allowed, it's considered CAPPING a Base.

I'm sure I'll think of a few more. Anyone else got any Ideas?

Only problem I see with that is weenies are just going to jump in fast planes (LA7's,51's and D9'd)  , and it will be just  like a mini-MA wth folks flying around cherrypicking from 20k

I liked the fact that this was a quick furball/duel - all in , no running , fight to the death.

Nowhere to hide  :)

Wasn't that the spirit of the original idea ?

I know what you mean Redd and I agree with you in that the running part and rolling fast planes such as La7's could lead to running. That's just another one of those issues that'll have to be talked through and worked out.

And even tho this idea has a HOTH'ish taste to it the fact that you are flying with and working with your squad brings the idea to a different level. One that I personaly love.

Anyways. That forum batfink wanted is up and running now.

http://www.furballunderground.com/phpBB .

I made a section for the squad duels so that if anyone is really interested in it and wants to keep going with this idea has somewhere to post on it. I'm gonna make batfink a Moderator (once he registers), this was his idea after all. And he can head it up. I will help though if he needs me to, as I always.

nice one on the bbs, thank you very much.

I like shawks idea, but it would would work better to have a rough plane set for each side also.

Hopefully Redd, any 'weenies' will get shown up very fast ;)

but yes, i agree, the main thing is about the formation attack scenario.

We could have formation attack rounds, followed by capture the flag with a specific leader.

In the spirit of the game, i'd say no to the moderator, but yes to just two team captains who control each side. nobody is going to want to organise one and not fight, surely. I think we're old enough to agree in sportsmanship when we've won or lost the game. If a captain gets shot down the team can no longer up or something..

anyone who is interested go to the furball underground forums.
