Moment of zen in a PC game

AWMV..This was the version that didnt allow B17s to turnfight, so I had been testing the limits of the flight model for a while when one night I decided to bomb some obscure field deep in Az Territory.
I got to the field and bombed the hell out of it becoming giddy at the sight of structures going down for *every* one of my bombs.  So finally, I'm headed back to the home field and I spot a P51 trying to climb up to me.  I decided right then I wasnt going down without a fight.  As he closed in within the required 600yds I slammed on the rudder and pulled as tight as I could, all the while keeping my wings level in order to avoid the instant red screen to tower.  I could see his tracers fly to the right past my screen.  Looking back I could see him stall out, and attempt to gain speed.  Each time he would try to gun for me and I would just pull a tight circle with the rudder and buy some more time.

Meanwhile on country channel I was yelling my guts out trying to find somebody that would take time out to save my reckless sortie.  Noone answered.  Phil9 wasn't too popular.  So we continued the game of cat and mouse for atleast 10 mins when finally the guy must have turned away for just a second.  In that second I nosed down and dove straight for Cz Land.  Eventually, I saw on the map that he was following me but I had a good two minute lead on him so I was in Czland by the time he caught up.  Coming up on Satton I believe with him hot in tow, I yelled for anyone to help.  To my satisfaction a newbie I had befriended upped and proceeded to lawn dart trying to kill the guy.  Thanks anyway lil guy.  As I landed on the field the ack came alive tearing the guy up be he persisted and sprayed me down on the runway.  Owing to the B17s toughness I barely survived giving me time to type in the end mission code(cant remember what exactly) and was greeted with a score in the 10 thousands in the tower.

Greatest AW moment...ever.

Maybe not a moment of zen, but one I laughed my arse off about.

Was Ultima online and they had just created "Trammel" ( newbie, puss land) and these Tramel guys where "adventuring" into Fallucia ( sp?)

I created a new character called "One Eyed Pete" and wandered around looking for Trammel dumbchits trying to explore Fallucia.

I came across this guy on the trail north of Britain. He asked very politely: "do you have a moonstone for Trammell?"

I promply killed him as my reply. The thing that made me laugh was just the fact that he saw "you are being attacked by One Eyed Pete!"

Don't know why, but I thought  that was funny.

Last Sunday in the Warbirds S3.  I wasn't flying, but had made the plan and was CO'ing the Allies.  Right as the entire LW formed to attack the bomber stream coming in from the North near Dunkirk, 4 squads of Allied fighters hit them from every side and shot down/scattered the entire force, losing only 1 bomber.
And then the Zen moment:

The second bomb group appeared on the LW radar at that moment, inbound for the Southern town of Mont Didier, and there was not a damn thing they could do about it!

A few years ago, the 352nd FG Assoc. had its reunion in Virginia at the ANG base there.  Several of our group were in attendence and the real Bastards were interested in Warbirds and what we were doing.  So we had arranged a mini scenario for them.

Members of WB's JG 2 and the 457th BG agreed to help us stage a bomber escort mission over Germany.  Guys from those two squads came together to help us show off for the vets.  So there we were in our Mustangs, over a formation of B-17G's while the 190's and 109's came at them.  I think everyone felt it was a real honor to be able to do that.  IIRC, I even got a kill.  It was very cool.

Some pics:

Vet's watching on systems the guys brought with them:

At the dinner (I wasn't there, but the older gent is Punchy Powell.  RL 352nd pilot and head of the Assoc.)
