Heck a dweebfire doesn't even require good flapwork, just a supple wrist to heave ho on the stick... Hehe

LOL ... You would then last no more than 20 seconds. I am being generous and giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are a good flyer.

Shawk isn't a bad flier.. he isn't a great "fighter pilot", but he is effective at what he does.

I've been much more impressed with him on the occasions I've been on the same side as him than I have been flying in the same area as say, Zazen.  Flying opposite either of them isn't much fun.

meddog, one thing you need to keep in mind is that shawk spends about 130 hours ingame each month.  Do you have that kind of time?

I can only recall being in the same 'area' as you once in an aircraft...I cherry picked ya. ;) I have never seen you on the same side as me, in my 'area' or otherwise. I can understand why flying against me would not be 'fun' I almost feel sorry for the poor bastards I fly against...so it makes sense. Heh

We are going to have something to talk about on vox tonight lol. Shawk will screw around but not in fighter mode. I fly with him ever night and yes he does die. The only time he will pad his score is on bomber i understand because i dislike bombers as much as he does. But i did find him in a IL-2 the other night HOing everthing in sight.

BTW He has been in flight sims almost from the start if you knew him in AW he was always top 10.

LOL ok this is probably going to be a touchy situation so I'll keep the sarcasm to a minimum.  I like how Urchin put it.  As for the vulching part, if we are trying to take a base and we have a goon coming, its in our best interest to not let anyone take off.

Hi, my name is Howitzer and I'm a vulcher.

I do love the great fights though.  I think I would rather go air to air, but like I said, if we are land grabbing, then I don't see anything wrong with it.  Shawk is a good guy, and just for the record, I've never heard him say that about you Steve.  He always came across as if you guys were friends both in game and real life.  I hope you didn't get disinformation.

guys.

Well, we have somewhat different criteria for a "good flight" which is probably why I rarely see you.  The only times I've ever seen you is when an area I thought looked promising when I took off turned out to be a wash, i.e. a red bar larger than the green bar, but by the time I got there the green guys overwhelmingly outnumbered the red guys.

To your credit, you are usually chasing someone around, albiet with plenty of help.

On the other hand, I've ended up winging with Shawk quite a few times where it ended up being just us against quite a few reds.

The only thing that leaves me somewhat less than overwhelmed regarding Shawk is he doesn't seem to try to reverse on a bad guy when he loses his initial advantage, he just hauls bellybutton outta there till the bad guy turns around.  Granted, that is just my impression on the occasions where I've ended up fighting him.  But that isn't exactly unusual in todays MA, so he is probably one of the better 'offensive' sticks flying around.

That said, SHawk is a decent guy, a vox hog, but a decent guy :)

The other night I ran into him where he had a slight altitude advantage over me, something like 1-1.5k, nothing significant.  So as I get within icon range and close to about d2.5 from the merge point, he put his nose down and starts to dive.  Since his dive is going to take him under me, I just waited a few seconds, rolled my plane inverted and pulled back on the stick and stitched his plane full of 20mm as he passed under.  Text book lead turn on merge for deflection shot.  So he starts crying HO when he gets back into the tower.  Basically, he whines like Mane but without Mane's talents.

Howie, my source is reliable.  Maybe it was a misunderstanding.
In fact, when I returned to the game and saw the list of old frineds on his squad roster, I was hoping for an invite but he didn't even acknowledge me in the MA, giving credence, perhaps, to what I'd heard.  Not the end of the world, but disappointing nonetheless

Hmm, yea, kinda reminds me of some guy named steve in AW flipping out and going on and on for a half hour and calling me a cheesey f**ker on the open channel regarding a cherry picking incident. ;)
