When the stupid Rambo movies were made...yes.

I identify movies like Rambo-II and III as "enemy propaganda".

Our countries are far from being allies, at least until you harbour Chechen terrorists.

You have to understand that both our countries have their own interests, that often contradict each other. That's life. I, personally, don't think that American people are my enemy. Your government often is. It's not an emotional matter, it's a well-known fact.

Alexander III said that Russia has only two reliable allies: it's Army and Navy. And he was the only Emperor who didn't wage wars.

I hope I made it clear.

This film is availible on DVD in the US.

One of the most impressive films I have ever seen.

Before watching it - please grab a bottle of strong alcohol. Otherwise it can be dangerous for your untrained nervous system. I simply can't watch it when sober :(

That did sound pretty annoying.

Yes, it's an old tradition. In Soviet times all foreign language films or films from other Soviet republics were dubbed. Then in the 80s, when VCRs became availible, Western films were translated and the translator's voice was mixed over original soundtrack.

Many such translators make stuff much better then "professional" studios.

BTW, Bulgarians, who have the same Cyrillic ABC and can read Russian without any problems always complain that Russians dub films instead of making subtitles ;)

We just had too many such things in our history.  In every family.

A torpedo-bomber crew seeing the flotsam from the boat with their evacuated families... With gunner completely collapsed on the floor screaming and commander saying on the intercom: "We will chastise them... chastise...".

I wish you never be in such a situation.

It's much more touching then hanging partisans.

Fair nuff.

I pretty much feel the same way about the Russian,And now French governments.
Although you have one up on the french as of those I've met personally I've yet to meet one I liked let alone trusted

Our own Thomas Jefferson maintained that the USA should look after its own interests first and not maintain permanent alliances

Honestly I'd rather have the subtitles.

something gets lost int he translation when you get rid of the actors voice and replace it with another.

You loose some of the flavor.

Dunno if you ever have seen a John Wayne movie but I've seen one dubbed over and it just doesnt work

To put it into some kind of explination  fellow English speaking folk understand.

Imagine Woddy Allans voice  instead of Jack Nicolson in The Shining saying, "Honey, Im home"
It suddenly becomes an entirely different movie

We were laughing with tears when we saw the dubbed titanic. Remember the scene where Jack is handcuffed to the ship while it's sinking and Rose comes for his help?

The scene lasts a long time where they are in panic and keep calling 'Jack!..Rose!..Jack!..Rose..' etc.

Now imagine this again with a deep male voice reading both actors lines with _zero_ emotion whatsoever. :rofl
