Yay! I'd prefer even higher like the MA standard 2.0 but 1.7 is a step in the right direction.

the set is great but for the 109F4 and the spitV.  if you were to leave those two out the fights and therefore the week would be excellent.  substitute the spitIX for the spitV and dump the evil 109F4........ or not.

the spitV is uber now

remove it and do whatever to make it even but as is now, there will be 5 spits to any other allied ride airborne at any given time

(sigh) That's true of ANY setup that has spits.  But the 205s and the A5s ought to be able to neutralize the spits, I think, so possibly people will start flying the other Allied iron.

What I really wish we had for setups like this is the Hurricane IIb.

Also, shouldnt a 43 MTO setup have P-47s?  Or is it too early for them yet?

It's not too early for P-47s, it's just that they were not deployed to the MTO until late in 1943.

P-47s didn't arrive in the MTO until November of 1943. This occurred when the 325th FG traded their P-40s for P-47Ds. They went active in December, based at Foggia, Italy.

During early 1943 in the MTO, mostly P-38F and G models were in front line units. Arrival of the P-38H was slow due to most being funneled to the 8th AF. By late 1943 the MTO saw a mixed bag of G and H models.

Likewise, the C.205 was a rare as hen's teeth at this time, with the earliest aircraft not being cannon armed.

Its really unfortunate that HT upped the Spit V boost, before that any set with it and the 109F-4 were the best out there IMO.

The 16+ boost Spit V, though it may have been used at that boost level at some point in real life, is a detriment to gameplay in the CT. As it stands now, its exactly 3 MPH slower than the Spit IX, but turns far better.

The squadron continued operations until 22 September 1943 when it flew its last mission with P-40s. Shortly afterward the squadron was assigned P-47s and men were dispatched to Casablanca, Algiers, and Bizerte to assemble the new aircraft. Soon after receiving the P-47s the rainy season began, causing the squadron to cease operational training at Mateur..

On 5 November the squadron moved to a landing field on Cape Bon, about 16 miles from Tunis. Here with improved weather, the squadron continued its training in P-47s. On 2 December the ground echelon proceeded to Bizerte where they were to await transportation to Italy by boat. A week later the air echelon left Solimon for Foggia Main, an airdrome just outside Foggia, arriving there late the same day.

On 14 December 1943, the squadron flew its first combat mission in P-47s, an escort mission over Corfu Island. On 20 December, the first part of the ground echelon arrived at Foggia after docking at Taranto and rode from there to Foggia, in an Italian passenger train. On 29 December the last half of the ground echelon arrived, after docking in Naples. Both of the ground echelons had crossed the Mediterranean in LSTs.

Also the 325th had P-40F's instead of the P-40E.

can you at least limit the spitV to the rear bases?

anything to keep their numbers down ..
