Just got a phone call...

From Michael at CH Products.

My Pro Throttle USB has been in use by him for a day and a half, after its' repairs, and seems to be in excellent working order.

It should ship out to me tomorrow.

NOTE to ALL:  This throttle had a view hat problem once before.  It was still in warrenty at that time and was repaired by CH.   In just under a year the view hat begain to fail again.  It was now OUT of warrenty.  I posted re this here

http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/

in the hardware section.

Michael responded with an RMA number and added I must include a check for $6.00 for shipping and handling.

I sent it in but did not include anything about what was wrong.  It was returned to me with the mini-joystick replaced??????????

Still had the hat view problem though!!!!!!!!!!

Recontacted Michael at CH.  It took a little time for the response to come in but got another RMA number and sent it in with the notice of what was wrong with the $6.00 check.

Good to excellent service here IMHO!!!!!!!!

Will be upgrading my CH F16 Fighterstick from analog to USB soon and then my analog peds will be upgraded to usb as well.  On a budget here .

i have a CH fighterstick pro or something....

JB35 won it at the con, and gave it to me and 42 as re-payment (we paid him and his wife's CON fees)

i bought out 42's half with a brand new X45 i got for $40 from roscoroo

basically i got it for $200 LMAO

i also have CH pro pedals from funkedup for i think $75 IIRC

they are AWSOME products. the action on the stick is unbelievable!!!

the pedals make a WORLD of difference in ACM

i still use my x45 throttle, i love the rotaries, and i have the old rudder rocker for move head side to side.

i could not give that up for the world.

anyway CH rocks from my experiance
I don't know what to put here yet.

This interesting...I need to update my CH gear to USB. Does this mean you can do it one piece at a time starting w/the throttle?

I'm still running Windows ME...would like to go w/ XP but from my understanding the analog gear ( or is it Speedkeys?), wont work with XP. Any advice would be very appreciated!

FWIW.... No need to replace the PRO analog pedals w/USB model.  The analog PRO pedals can be used (rudders AND toe brakes) as a standalone device plugged into a gameport or USB via a gameport adapter.  (not the plain-jane CH pedals. Just the Pro pedals btw)

I'm using my old, analog gameport Pro peds in conjunction with my new X-45 setup with no problem at all.

Thx for the info Westy, and BTW :)  I'm already over budget on an upgrade...hence my interest in upgrading my CH gear one piece at a time. I'm assuming you can't plug an anolog Stick into a USB throttle? Dang it sux to be stupid at upgrade time! Anyway thx again Westy..any more info would be appreciated!

Hiya Aztek.   I'm watching as I am a few months behind you for an upgrade. Problem is hardware changes so fast that usually by the time I'm ready to upgrade I haven't a clue what to look for. I swear if one stays out of the hardware loop for 6 mos or more you can forget about using any knowlege gained previously. So it takes me a few months to get in tune and feel comfortable. This forum is one of the best out there (onlien games) when looking for upgrade tips and advice!

AFAIK you cannot plug an analog stick into a USB throttle.   But you should be able to plug your stick into the gameport (via analog peds if you have them) and use them in conjunction.
If you do not have a gameport a USB-gameport adapter wors as well if not better (rock solid, long lasting calibration).  I have this one
http://www.usbcable.com/47-1932.htm
The url is just for the specs and picture. They are charging 2X as much as I paid for mine.

I had to retire my CH Fighterstick and Prothrottle when I upgraded to Win XP. I could never get the "fix" (XP boot disk for old CH programmable gear) to work for me.  To replace it I bought a "refurbished" X-45 setup from Saitek for $39. I swear they were never opened and are simplya new setup. Anyway. I use my old Pro pedals on thier own via my gampeort and the X-45 plugs in USB.  Works well so far. Much different feel to the throttle and stick though

OK here is what I'm doing for now.

Installed speedkeys and analog rudder peds and analog F16 Fighterstick.  Make sure they're working correctly.   Calibrate in windows and AH.

Installed the software and the the USB throttle.  Make sure it's working correctly and calibrate in windows and AH.

Select controllers in AH and assign button presses.

Fly :)

This is done with W98SE.

Going to get the F16 USB stick next, then will get the peds later unless I can get em to work with the USB adapter.  Might go the peds instead.  The Peds i'm usung or the old standard peds not the PRO.  No toe breaks and instead of slding they rock.

Running a Saitek X45, and the Peds are stand alone right now using some software I picked up at the stickworks.  r-only and joyclick.  Installed the r-only and calibrate with the joyclick software.

System works fine.

Don't need the r-only or joyclick with the analog stick.

I have the 568 Combatstick USB

Pro THrottle USB

Pro Pedals USB

All over 4 years old and working perfectly.

I used analog pedals and Combatsticks also along with speedkeys and throttle.

There are no other game controlers imho.

Most dependable merchandise I've bought in any purchase.
