Hey Folk:
I need some help in my first painting, I'm attempting a 190 A5 killing an IL in the Kurland pocket. I used Selectors JG54 skin as my base, but I'm having a heck of a time getting the colours correct. I studied all the JG54 info about the groups that were there at the KUrland pocket and learned a GREAT amount of info at their web site:
http://www.jg54greenhearts.com/index.htmMy question is, in Selectors skin, are the lighter patches painted white, or are they unpainted metal? I'm curious, even tho my artist buddy points out that a shiny patch of metal, would detract from the point of having camo. in the first place. But, I contend that an unpolished metal can be even less reflective than a white paint. So is that unpolished dull metal, or a whitish paint.?
Below are a pic and a painting of the same plane. It's a 109G from I / JG 54 in the Kurland pocket. The art is from J.J Boucher , I found no website of his to pass on, but prints of all his work can be purchased at any Online Aviation Art store.
Thanks for any and all inputs in response to this question.
