Dunno about the policy of the US military, but it would really depend on the frequency of the testing. If you smoke once in a while it's either visible for a day or two or even not at all in some cases. If you are a 'pothead', meaning that you would use it daily it can be detected from urine from a week to a month. I wouldn't think a typical 'pothead' would be able to function in the army anyways. If they do expensive hair follicle tests it can be detected up to 3 months.

I did lil bita research, Seems they test you once you sign up at MEPS during your physical and such, then again at MEPS right before you ship and then AGAIN at Bootcamp, after that active duty your randomly testd on a pretty average basis, aka about a month before you go to Bootcamp you better stop puffin.

i think you could smoke pot and function in the military easily, less physically harming and draining then alcohol, i mean if you didnt abuse it of course,i mean you cant be smoken 24/7 and function, no, but im sure you could smoke on your off days and return to duty perfectly fine. OH WELL:D learn somethin new everyday!

as far as active duty is concerned, i had a buddy in the navy back in the mid 90's

he and some others were smoking almost every day someplace in seattle.

that dude came back one messed up drug addict. coke, pot, heroin, never talked to him again after about a month back. ran into him maybe 3 years later, looked like an aids patient.

really sad.

you know, i have known alot of pot heads in my life, but i have never had the misfortune of running into heroin or even the possiblility trying it around them.

not that i ever would have.

i guess that my wilder days were squarer than i had thought.

i cant even fathom the notion of smoking crack. i mean, what sort of idiot goes...oh...crack...hey, why dont i try that?

Or how about Columbia, Mo police going door to door with a petition to reverse a law passed last election that makes havin weed a simple ticket with no record or jail time.
When was the last time a pothead went and shot up a place of work or flew jumbo jets into twin buildings?.....and for those who say it leads to harder stuff.....BS....harder stuff was already there and nobody forced crack on a crackhead..... There is a big difference between use and abuse. Those that abuse have issues other than their habit......
