One of those nights in AH
« on: March 15, 2005, 02:07:37 PM »
I had one of those nights last night in AH where nothing went right.  Every flight I got clobbered. They were always above me and no matter what I did, I seemed to get hit in the face.

I'd been feeling pretty good about my 38G flying lately too.

Finally I somehow survived a fight in the shape shown in the image below.  I managed to nurse it back home and belly it in.  I logged and found something else to do as it was my biggest accomplishment in the game last night.  Seemed to be a sign I just didn't have it, more then usual :)

Yup, last time I played.

#1:  2 assists, blasted by 5" gun
#2:  Never fired a shot, nailed by puffy ack
#3:  Turning with a spit, caught the water on accident
#4:  After a pony, took a 37mm manned ack right in the grill
#5:  Disco
#6:  Logged back in (just begging for more punishment), upped a tempest, blacked out because I wasn't watching my speed, came back stalled out with a N1k d200 away.  After my corpse landed and the firemen exstinguished me just in time for my tempest wreckage to fall on my head, I muttered some four letter words and went to bed   :aok

LOLH,  Great pic, I love seeing the wing rib.  Nice Job HTC.

Yeah last night was awful for me too.  Exactly what you were talking about.

Lame noobs face shooting, others not even trying to fight - 1 SPIT would just fly by everyone and go strait for the vulch.  The maroon didn't even know the correct plane to fly like a radish.  LOLH.

I had one guy, every time you would get on his six all he would do were left turns, spiraling down from 10k lolh.  Every time too I ran into him, even on the deck - there he goes into the never ending left turn of death, then he'd die if one of his cherry picking buddies didn't help.  hahaha.

Only good fight I had the whole night was against 50Cals.

Definately was a snooz fest last night.  I don't mind dying in a good fight.  I hate skillless dweebs cheap shoting all night.

I was getting my bellybutton kicked nonstop last night - so do not feel bad. Lost two 262s, a F4UC, three P38's. Finally said **** it, went to 109 where a CV was shelling the **** out of the place - up'd a P40E and ****ed up 3 Seafires, F4U and a Zeke in a 10 minute span.

Go figure ... some days luck is on your side.

Others it wants you to fly an under rated ride and surprise yrself.

Heck no, that was the only halfway decent fight of the night :)

The problem when it's 3 on 1 or more, is you can only honor so many of the threats.  And I never was fast enough to be much of a threat to any of you guys.

But that was the night, defensive from the get go and it didn't change.  The one time I found a guy one on one, he was in a Spit and he started firing head on over 1000 out and as I ducked under, it was one ping and my left engine was smoking and the aileron gone.   I still turned back in on him and it was the same thing except this time as he blazed away and I ducked under he knocked off the tip of the right wing..

I still suffer from that old AW message that firing head on is a dweeb move, so I hesitate every time instead of just hosing em back.  Most times I can evade it.  Last night I couldn't no matter what I tried.  As that's all that guy was doing, I put the nose down as he was headed the other way and did my best to keep that messed up 38 in the air.

So when I got that broken bird back and actually put it on the runway, I figured it was a sign I should quit for the night while I was behind :)

There's always another day to try again

I know what you mean. Last night nothing was going really bad but nothing was going very right either. Finally, I smashed into the ground chasing  GooseCH when he was in a 109.   I took that as a sign to hang it up for the night.

Goose is very slippery.

That was my last kill for the next hour or so.  I was vulch after vulch or geting cherried until finnaly I got a kill.  Then things turned around.  I upped a P40 and got 9 kills died 1 one time.  I think what helped was that once people see a Spit behind a p40 they leave. They figure you are dead and you get to enjoy the 1 on 1.

I ve seen that a lot thepast three days.  Spit spraying from 1.5 out

First guy was the 190D9 who I followed out from the field.  Then it was you.  You engaged as the D9 extended away before coming back.  Then he came back so I was trying to track you and him.  The Spit was the third guy in :)  Your killing shot was as I tried to turn in to the D9 who was less then 1000 out.  At first I thought he got the kill, cause I thought I ducked under you.

No worries either way.   Not your job to make sure I stay out of trouble :)
