Now I feel bad about that shot. I was not going to pull the triger until you exposed your belly.
Heck no, that was the only halfway decent fight of the night
The problem when it's 3 on 1 or more, is you can only honor so many of the threats. And I never was fast enough to be much of a threat to any of you guys.
But that was the night, defensive from the get go and it didn't change. The one time I found a guy one on one, he was in a Spit and he started firing head on over 1000 out and as I ducked under, it was one ping and my left engine was smoking and the aileron gone. I still turned back in on him and it was the same thing except this time as he blazed away and I ducked under he knocked off the tip of the right wing..
I still suffer from that old AW message that firing head on is a dweeb move, so I hesitate every time instead of just hosing em back. Most times I can evade it. Last night I couldn't no matter what I tried. As that's all that guy was doing, I put the nose down as he was headed the other way and did my best to keep that messed up 38 in the air.
So when I got that broken bird back and actually put it on the runway, I figured it was a sign I should quit for the night while I was behind

There's always another day to try again
