Wonder what kind of warhead they are gonna put on these.

On 28 January 2005, Ukranian parliamentarian Hryhoriy Omelchenko issued an open letter to President Viktor Yushchenko that Ukraine had illegally sold cruise missiles to Iran. It's was a credible report, which names dates, names, the bank accounts, fictitious shell companies that were set up to extradite the transfer of money from Iran. Plus there was collaborating evidence to this whole affair. He refered to a paper company set up in Cyprus to channel money for the missiles.

sorry if this was posted somewhere else didnt see it.

Not with those missiles. But last time  I checked we did have 150,000 or so troops right next door in iraq.

Do you think the fact that the Iranians might be arming themselves to the teeth has anything to do with that fact? ;)

Cruise missiles are not magic bullets.  Also, the technology required to build them isn't crazy.  A clever person can build an effective cruise missile with off the shelf parts without drawing suspicion.  They start to get expensive when you reduce the CEP or add things like visual recognition of targets.

If you want to destroy fixed explacements/buildings, you can build a guidance head to fit on anything with engines and control surfaces for less then $1,000.  If you want to attack moving targets, you'd probably be out of luck unless you had someone who was more then clever, but cruise missiles are designed mainly for use against stationary objects, so it's not a huge loss.

The sophistication of the Tomahawk won't be matched for $1k, but you don't NEED that sophistication for a surprise attack against buildings/big targets.

Great job Boosh ... maybe you'll get your WWIII if you keep it up.

Oh wait you wanted Cold War II?  Doesn't quite have the ring of world war III tho.

Iran was going to do this irrespective of Iraq, Evil Boosh, etc.

To believe otherwise is simplistic thinking, IMO.

Perpetual warfare!

Now thats the ticket. Keep your population scared of the bad guy and full of fear and hate for them and you got them where you want them. Too busy being scared of the baddies to question why their own country is going down the pan.

last week we were at war with Eurasia, this week Eastasia, doesn't matter who just that whoever we are at war with is the enemy.

I urge you to read 1984 then compare Ingsoc strategy to the current "War on Terror" A perpetual war with no victory just constant struggle. Scary stuff.

See the thing about cruise missiles is that they are very hard to shoot down. They fly nice and low usually doing terrain following so that will take the patriots out of the mix.  Again it's not about guidance that is simple given gps these days what is hard is getting through air defenses at 50 meters off the deck.

Oh so I guess if we just withdraw our troops from iraq, iran will just stop....please they want nukes so they can have more power in the international community. I look at their attempt to acquire them as nothing more than nuclear blackmail to get up on the world stage. I hope they have an "accident". My money is on Isreal helping them have that little "accident".
