Palistine is a figment of British imagination. It didn't exist until the Brits made it up in the early part of the Twentyth Century.
No, you'll find the Romans called the area that (or something very close to it), as did the ancient Greeks. You'll also find Mark Twain calling the area Palestine in his writings on the first Zionist conference in 1897.
