But what does you expect from an ignorant idiot?

I guess we British get upset when American's called the IRA freedom fighters and allowed them to enter the US and collect money.  Strange thing terrorists eh?!

Thanks Laz,

If you guys will please just promise to keep working on the beer thing and learn to play the real version of football we'll certify the place for the immigration of the few remaining non-socialists. Oh, and for heavens sake turn on the lights in the bars and get rid of the TV so people can actually have a conversation.

PS: Tea is supposed to be hot, with milk and sugar, pass it on.

Well, early in on the topic, many 'American' people were slating Europeans and the BBC - perhaps phobic about everyone non-American?  It turns out that an American made the film.... so???  Personal attacks indeed and no I don't agree with them.

As for my response, it was sarcasm!

I knew it was made by an American before I posted because I read the whole link. It was a BBC show and I commented on the bias of the BBC.

How's that?

seagoon... I don't drink so you can lobby for any kind of beer or barroom ambiance you like....  sports bore me to tears so you can even do that cricket paddle thing if you like....

But tea?   horrible stuff... only good if ice cold and with sugar and lemon in it.   Coffee is the thing.

BBC make good stuff and crap stuff.  Doesn't mean that all British/European's condone it.  The point I'm trying to get across is that there are so many American's trying to tar us all with the same brush.  Afterall many people are posting here how hated 'American's' feel yet they happily apply the thing they most dislike to other countries.  Now that's what ignorance is about!  People, whatever nationality, will continue to make/write things to get a reaction.  I see newspaper articles about topics which I know are completely false/or at least mostly incorrect.  What happens?  People talk about it, it sells papers, it furthers discussions.  That's proved here.

Phillistine! That's worse than advocating for gun control! Where are my bags? "Hun' grab the kids there's no civilization here either..."

 ;)

Oops, I promised not to whine anymore. Ok, I suppose you can have yer "swee'tee" as long as people stop confusing me by offering it to me when I'm tired as "Tea."

Well anyway, I guess we agree on the coffee thing, but for me at this point after developing the caffeine addiction in seminary (you are always 1,000 pages behind) its more of a need than a simple pleasure like tea. "Hi my name is Seagoon and I'm a coffeeholic."

So did I Replicant, particularly after Enniskillin.  I actually got into a brawl with a US student from Boston over that particular incident [sorry, I was a bad kid]. But then again, the vast majority of Yanks I've met, not from the Peoples Republic of Massachussetts or the five boroughs with a last name beginning with either "Mc" or "O' " recognize that whether you call the organizaion ETA, IRA, FARC, etc. a terrorist by any other name still smells just as malign. I'm glad that these days even the people of Northern Ireland are beginning to see the Provos for what they really are, maybe that'll even spread to Boston some day.
