Now that I think of it... has this car tunable gears out of the shop? Might have to look there.

I can't remember, I'm pretty sure it's FC. There's really no reason to adjust anything for this track imho. The trick is to get the car sideways well ahead of time, and give it just enough gas to keep your sideways slide through the corner going (by using all your wheelspin to keep them broken free). You want a minimum of forward movement until you clear the apex. Then smoothly accelerate out of the turn and setup for the next corner. You shouldn't go past 3rd gear on this track iirc.

It's available in the license tests also, I suggest getting in a few practice sessions there. It goes a long way to keeping you off the walls.

Also you can try some left-foot braking.  Brakes and gas at the same time.  Old rally driver trick.  Should make the car understeer less without wheelspin if PD got the center diffs right.

Just some random notes:

Best 6 car races:
Renault Clio Cup
VW Bettle Cup
VW Lupo Cup

All those cars are full race versions with nice default setups, lovely to drive.  You can win from 6th with no additional mods, but just barely.

Also the 1000 Miles race at the Nurburgring is a blast.  Pick something like a Ginetta, Jag E-Type, Shelby Cobra, MBz 300SL, then start and quit until you get an AI field with the same car as yours in it.  If you use N3 tires you will just barely be able to outrun the AI.

Best money makers:
Special Conditions, Rally di Capri Easy.  You get the Toyota RSC Rally Raid which you can sell for about $250k.

Even better is European Events, German Touring Car Meisterschaft.  You can do this on B-Spec in about 10 minutes.  $150k prize money plus a CLK race car which you can sell for about $750k.
The catch is that you need a car from the DTM series to compete.  Italian Festival, Schwarzwald League B, Legend of Silver Arrow, Opel Speedster Cup, will all give you a car you can use.  Then mod it to Stage 4 turbo or something and you can B-Spec about $5M per hour.

Well... there is another snow track :) Didn't really get to work on my times thought, only hit 46.512. PMS'ing girlfriend randomly going crazy made it hard not to drive my real car into an overpass pylon.

Okay.. the track is Tsukuba Circuit, the car is the uh.. HPA Motorsports Stage II 32. 50k mods, not including R3 tires. *no NOS* Should make for a pretty fast lap, and some good technical challenges with the reverse bank corner and the long lines.

WTF is a HPA Motorsports Stage II 32?

And if this is another 3/4 million cr car.......I'm trying to save up for one of those 4.5 million cr race cars and this aint helping.

Also, clarify pls:  Are you saying R3 tyres are all that's allowed or just that any other tyres have gotta come out of the 50k budget?

Go to Tuners, go to HPA (top left). iirc it's only 75k. If you want better than R3, take it out of the budget, but imho, it's not gonna be worth it. No, you don't get a refund trading them in for R4s or 5s.

Well I finally got the game the other day and my pro force wheel comes in today, so I'll give this one a whirl. Someone else win this week so we can get some cool cars racing!! :) btw, what was the first car you guys paid for in this game? I started with a Buick Grand National which I used until I had enough for a 2000 Z06 (which dosent exist, but thats another matter).

Hey now! Any car I pick is cool by default

I started with a used MR2 turbo. Then I got the HPA Stage II, and saved up to build a 1000hp Skyline. After that, my favorite was the Motul Pitwork Z jgtc race car. Then, after my first 4.5mil it was the Audi R8. My second 4.5mil got me the Toyota le mans car. Those cars won me the Polyphony Formula cars in various colors. Those are all I drive except for this challenege :)
