I'm glad BlueJ1's queries relate to football and not Cricket. If you want to know what it feels like to push a rock uphill, try explaining Cricket to an American. The easy part is convincing them that it's NOT really like baseball. After that, the migraine sets in. :(

OK...a little better than watching paint dry, but not much better than watching grass grow.

Is it legal to hit the ball with your ass? If it is, my wife could be a super star.

As you see every 2 years Fussball mania here :)

You ordered any tickets for the World Cup yet?  31 March 2005 is the last day to order the first batch.  There will be more chances to order some in May and then later in the year on, I believe, a first come first served basis.

As for England vs Azerbaijan.... why do people always think this will be a walk over?  Because Poland beat them 8-0?  England only managed a 1-0 victory over them in Autumn.  Quite often the teams described as 'walk-overs' (i.e. 5+ goals) never really materialise because we either put the curse on England or they get over confident?

I'm watching the match at the moment and England have had many chances but as usual never put them all away.  Shame!

Hi Nexx.

Typical England, miss loads of chances ;)

And the game WAS a walkover, the chances, posession and quality of england's play made it a walkover, they actually played well, just didnt convert many chances..  Could have easily been 6 or so nil if luck had gone our way with those.

Beetle, no that reference is definitely a mistake. He had nothing to do with Northern Ireland other than the lead the Irish team to play against them in Belfast. There is often confusion in some circles. Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Eire, Ulster etc. Confusion reigns.

Believe me I know. He's part of the folklore here now. It took an Englishman to restore pride in the Irish football team.  As a kid I followed England and couldn't even name a member of the Irish team. But I could name the entire England '66 squad. It was ironic that part of that squad led the Republic to victory against England on one occasion.

France drew again.  Atleast they managed to score for a change.  Nice to see Henry playing as well for France as he is for Arsenal.:D   Looks like Ireland have a very good chance of winning their group.

I was working tonite so i missed the match, i'll record it when it's on this morning at 1am.  It is nice to see England not resorting to the long ball, hoofing it up field like they tend to do.

Sorry, Furball, I don't consider anyone who wasn't born within 10 miles of the ground a true fan. I'd ask how the prawn sandwiches are at Highbury, but you are probably more of a canape fan yourself.

<<< currently sitting 7.5 miles from Hillsborough. I am rocks.

Isn't there a shootout in the event of a tie?
