My notes:

- Vanquish is a car that can be steered with the throttle on N (simulation) tires.  On R tires it's faster but it's an understeering pig due to the fact that R tires don't really simulate a traction circle as much as a traction square.  600 bhp and you can't even chirp the rears...

- In order to get rid of the understeer one may wish to attempt suspension tuning.  Unfortunately GT4 (like GT3) has got spring rates and roll stiffness bass ackwards.  On a real car, to reduce understeer, one would make the rear spring and roll stiffness greater relative to the front.  In GT4 you have to go another way.  To take the push out of the car, make the front stiffer and the rear softer.  Again probably due to the bugs in the tire models.

One question about the game: I noticed the rule 'Try not to cut corners or hit walls too much.'

Does it have a good damage model, or do collisions / accidents only slow you down?

Dunno about GT4, but wallriding in GT2 and 3 was an easy cheat.

Frenchy, looks like you misread 944 for 244.

The walls are kind of "sticky" in GT4.  They won't hurt your car but they will slow you down.
The idea of the rule is simple.  If you do something that would break the car or get you black flagged in real life, don't submit the time.

Hello all, Swoop finally persuaded me to come out of hiding, get registered, and start posting my times.  Still, if it keep's him happy :p

Anyway, yes, initial run of 1'49.something, still need to fiddle with the car, and now I have Swoops ghost image to follow, I'm looking to improve!

Have fun all...

Talyn (mate of Swoop)

Hey Talyn.

No racey racey here, but I look in to see how the Swoopster is doing....and it appears he is doing just fine, as usual with computer games.  ;)

Swoop is my CO in the AH squad and a mate too.  Any friend of his is a friend of mine.

Welcome to the boards.
