Okay BBQ_Bob now pay attention.... see the above quote from g00b...included in the quote is a question....it begins with the word seriously...and ends with folks.
Now g00b was asking a question about why someone would run for 10 minutes and purposely alt f4 out of the game....etc etc etc.
Do you now have an understanding of what the thread is about, and wtf I am talking about?  It sure aint about brisket of beef and barbeque :aok
Sheesh! And they let this guy fly aeroplanes in here:rolleyes:

You answered your own question ...

I don't post that often but after reading through this post I felt a stupid need to explain why I try to stay alive.  I usually fly under "attack" with a Mossie so any GV kills count, but I leave "fighter" for strictly air-to-air engagements in a better plane (which I rarely use).

I like to try to keep my K-D ratio as high as possible at the start of a tour.  I like the stress of being deep in a battle, low on altitude and energy and having to keep very high SA to keep from dying.  All the K/D ratio does for me (since I know no one else ever sees mine anyhow) is give me a bar or level to try to beat month to month.  (ie.  7-1 one month then I shoot for 8-1 ect.).  Same with the perks.  One mission in a Mossie I got 73.59 perks for only 5 kills.  The next trip I try to better that...although the multiplier has a huge deal to do with it, its great downing better ENY value planes for perks with a 40 ENY plane.  Now that being said I'm sure you can all agree, once you get vulched a few times and that number is trashed I don't worry the rest of the month and just fly and die and don't worry about it.

Now I started reading this thread and thinking...man I really enjoy that stress at the beginning of the month before I let it go and don't care because it adds a new dimension to my game.  Palms swetting, low on ammo and trying like hell to get back home with cons outnumbering you in a slow plane...and thinking...Damn this will be the first death this month..can I get to friendly territory first...hehehe.  Those are the best!

Anyhow...enough babbling....As far as I remember if you successfully bail over friendly territory it DOES NOT count against K/D.  If you get captured it COUNTS as a death....right?

Regards,

Higgins

Sadly, getting fewer apart.  But I did have fun the other night bouncing a bunch of Knitwits that tried to vulch a friendly base.  Sadly, out of the entire group of Knights only one of them proved to be a worthy foe and a fun fight, Freaksta.

This happened to me a couple of days ago.

Took off from a field in a Typhoon. I saw an enemy Typhoon rushing to the field. It was the typical 'go and kill some stuff, and then runaway' type of attack - which by itself, I have no problems with. It's actually a much smarter thing to do than dancing in the acks all alone.

But the guy makes a typical n00b mistake. Instead of using his speed to extend far away, and then gently turn towards the home field and running away, he makes a tight loop.

I caught his behind with the Typh. A few of my friends also attempted to latch on.

As the distance closed to 1.0yds..

Poof! Icon disappears. The guy bails out.

 ...

Gee whiz.. at least the suicidal bombers have the guts to jump to the field and try shoot back...

If you were d1.0 away and you didn't get a proxy most likely he was already damaged by someone else and they got the kill credit.

I don't think so Akak, I know it used to work that way but, it was changed somehow with this new version or, it became porked.
I have had this happen to me, and have seen it close by among others too; afterwhich, everybody in ther area asks "who killed him? What was his handle? Did anybody get the kill?"
