ohh no not another hoeing post.

is it just me or does it seem that 75% of all players you encounter in the MA seem to try the hoe shot on the first pass?

also noticed that another 75% of the time
when they try ill end up killing them anyways, cause they pissed me off.

first pass set up, second game on:aok

Well the HO's I can deal with, part of the game. What frustrates me is when there in a plane that out turns me and they don't even try any type of ACM to get on my six. Just turn into ya for a HO shot. Most of the time they will screw that up too. Cause most of those types are Nuggets anyway. :p

I was in a h2h arena, and I spent about 30 minutes telling the players how hoeing is kinda lame, and how you should merge etc, but some guy named "Seano" says:"If you merge then you die"and he says it takes 2 people to Ho. Witch is wrong, if two planes are going head on most of the time, well me I'm thinking hes going to merge with me etc. He was from the MA also, but most of the new guys in there
didnt know it was so bad. I think thats what happens in the MA, either they want a kill bad. Or just dont know what there doing.

I'm going out on a limb here, but if 75% of the guys you meet
are trying to HO you on the first pass, may I suggest not flying
directly towards them?

I have noticed that the majority use the HO as their primary merge tactic followed by a dive to the deck after the merge.

I agree, and I'd put the number at more like 90%.

The Knitwits are just as guilty as the Rookies or the Bishops.  But then some Knitwits just bail out instead of fighting.

Some observations I have made.....As skill increases, the urge to HO drastically disapates....the MA has become so HO Dweebish, that when I actually get a real head on to a merge I know i better have my game face on because im up against one of the few good pilots....or just some crazy noob lol...

another observation I have noticed on the merge issssssssssssssssss.....most vets opening move will be full back elevator trim...notch of flaps and a hammerhead type maneuver into the vertical to pounce on your opponent...lately that is my move of choice and it almost always works....most noobs will either break in the horizontal or wing over and dive....

umm..ya
